Customer service.

I was thinking about becoming a service writer for a dealership once I get my ASE master tech cert. I mean I'd make more as a tech potentially, but I figure I'd have a physically easier job. Then I realized that I'd get cucked by customers screaming about their new vehicles needing work, and techs bitching about the work that was assigned to them. Truly getting burned at both ends.

Too much education for the payoff - most accountants’ jobs can be done by a reasonably smart high school grad. Actually most jobs in white collar America today are like that.

I don't think I could do an accounting job without an education in that field, maybe with professional training.

A lot of people in my field get their CPA just to move up as analysts and not to become accounts.

I legit feel and for pharmacists. Not including residency, they go through the same amount of schooling as physicians and dentists, 4 years minimum of undergrad + 4 years of pharmacy school. Yet so many of them work at Walgreens and CVS if they can even find work, get absolutely chit respect from the public, and I’ve heard many stories of them being talked down to by nurses with half their education. And even if they manage to find a good job, they tend to make far less than physicians and dentists, and aren’t even allowed to prescribe things despite having a doctorate in drugs essentially.

I respect them a lot though, the ones I’ve spoken with know their chit.

yeah, it's a super saturated field and not worth it these days. If youre that good at chemistry/math that you can become a pharmacist it's better to become a PA, MD, DO, even RN.

I know one though that is the exception because he's been in the field for 20 years and owns two pharmacies in large traffic areas, and he does his own compounding of medications as well.

Probably making 100K a month after all expenses between the two facilities. But yeah, he got into it a long time ago and also had lots of family money to start the businesses in the first place.

That's the difference between an employee and an employer. Any profession is lucrative when you run a successful business.

It just so happens that you are going up against serious odds if you aren't starting a business with family money like Bezos, Musk, and Gates.

I know a guy who's wife is a pharmacist and she makes 180k per year working for Walgreens I believe.


They live in a 400k home and she's driving a 85K SUV and they have three kids. No way in hell they're making that on his 60K per year salary and her making $25 an hour.

average Walgreens pharmacist salary is 114K.

Also, is a 400K home supposed to be impressive? that's a dumpster in any place even moderately desirable.

I jumped into project management once I got my first job and saw engineers were mired in pointless paperwork turning brackets around and changing cable runs as their life.

Since PM is masochism and the eng industry here pays fuk all, I bailed entirely and work as a bioinformatician doing interesting work and earn more as an entry level idiot than I did after 10 years delivering multi million defence projects for arsehole clients.

Private school which = 190 days of actual work and pupils are from well of families and decently brought up to respect authority and are not retards.

School also likes to cut costs so the teachers are younger and there are hot sloot teachers everywhere. Better yet, you teach abroad and racemaxx.

It's far less competitive to get into pharmacy than medicine... and prescribing requires having a diagnosis first. Also, modifying scripts for a known diagnosis requires clinical context. Can't just adjust diuretics if you can't do a volume assessment exam for example.

Hospital general pharmacists are pretty good. More specialized clinical pharmacists tend to be very good. Most pharmacists are retail though and can have significant knowledge gaps.
