Went out with some friends for icecream tongiht. Son was with me and the topic came up that I have never "launched" my car. I dont know why I have not, but I just havent. I have never used launch mode in any car I have owned. So I figured tonight would be as good a time as ever to use it!

Car is putting out 860+hp. VF supercharged huracan. All 4 wheels spun for a bit, but windows were down and sound was glorious! My son was laughing his a$$ off.

We spent the day earlier giving him stick lessons since we have a track day in a few weeks and I will be bringing out the lotus for the first time on the track. It is very different from this car but just as much fun to drive!

Yea, you definitely have to enjoy them for what they are made to do. Recently took it out for a track day and my 14 year old son got to do a bunch of hot laps. First time he has ever drove a car ever...and by his 3rd turn he was hitting 120! Got a little too cocky by his last session and spun out in turn 4...but he kept it on the track

Sick op, ill be doing the same with my kids. Mostly so they dont make the same mistakes that I did as a young adult driving cars beyond their limits on the street. Good to get em started early.

Whenever it is nice out. I dont drive in the rain. I have got caught a few times and it takes me 2+ hours to clean the wheels alone. The car stays pretty spotless.

Been splitting my driving up since I just bought a lotus Elise to start doing more regular track days with my son. Been teaching him stick, and we have our first track day in Aug.

I have gone a little overboard with the car stuff. I even got a full racing sim so we can be track ready, Yea....I know it is stupid, but when you can share stuff like this with your kids it is worth it!








I have been self employed since 23. Dropped out of school and went into business for myself in construction. My work has evolved over time and now, besides realestate investments, I design custom homes full time.

Life has not always been great and there have been some tough times and lean times. I went for 10+ years without buying any toys and then recently I have gone a little nuts. I did sell the gallardo spyder though...but now have the lotus which I cant wait to get out on track.

What is awesome is despite being beautiful, she is even more so on the inside.Never broke speed limit. Prove itThat is not a good launch. My tires were cold. If tires are warm, it is a 0-60 2.3 0-100 4.9 and 9.9 1/4 car. Not a good car for 1/4 mile since AWD drags it down, but not much going to beat this from a dig. Or a roll for that matter. It is freaky fast but can actually handle also.

This was a vid a guy sent to me of his buddy on a modded GSXR 1000 who thought he would take me. I let off since I was not going to drive like these guys but from a roll I was a full length ahead of him. Not the fastest thing ever, but a quick car on the street.

Nice to see some car stuff on misc. I've recently lost motivation to work on my track car after dropping like 15k lol. It's just sitting in storage at a standstill while I wait for parts that will take months to get.

No doubt. It is really my son that is my motivator behind all this. I really had gotten out of cars in the early 2000's. My passion was helicopters. I hold a commercial and instructor rating and was lucky enough to own several. Used to fly in and out of my old house even. I dont misc much, but I have told this before. I was in a bad helo crash and ened up with a broken neck, front brain injury and amnesia. My son was only 2 at the time. A combination of the crash and the economy collapsing, I decided that I was not going to fly (or at least own) a helo for a while. I cant see justifying owning one since my life is a lot simpler now with a lot less headaches than I used to have. Cars are a lot of fun, and getting to share it with my son all the better!





COVID was and is toughest on the younger kids. My son struggled a lot with the lack of socialization. He checked out of school and went from A/B student to failing every class. I punished him as much as I could...then one day we got news that a kid in my sons school killed himself. I realized that COVID sucked for us all, and I was going to make memories. I basically turned my tactics and bribed my son to do well in school. I told him if he was not in summer school, we would get him into kart racing. So that has been awesome! Last week, I took the day off and we spent the day at the track working lap times...etc. Is it stupid....probably, but they are the most enjoyable days I have!





No...not me. Would like his channel revenue though. GT3's are fantastic cars. I know lots of car guys and getting an allocation, even for guys who are on their 10th car is a challenge.Thanks man. No flex here. I would be just as happy to post pics of my Kia Sorrento that I totally love also. (srs). I dont let material things define me, but I can see the enjoyment in them. However 'stuff' is never the source of happiness. It can distract you for a bit, but that is only an illusion. The best things in life cost nothing, but they can be the hardest to get also. Again, I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful girl to make a life with. I could have absolutely nothing and she would love me the same.A few of my buddies have Stage III cars. That is a TOTALLY different level of performance. BUT, you are talking about putting another 160+ in the car. My car has about 55k of performance mods. I would almost argue that the VF is a better street car. Full torque from 2500 RPM on. Sure, if you get on the Texas mile, the UGR car is going to blow away the VF. But for a car that be a daily and you can toss your kids the keys, the VF is a pretty special balance in my view. I appreciate the UGR cars, and have ridden in them....but the funny thing, is I know guys who one them and barely drive them. My buddy has his UGR III huracan for sale right now and just got an STO. You go so far in the mods and I think you start to worry about driving it. For me, I just get in my car and go. I dont care if the tank is at 1/2 level. (something you have to be careful of in a UGR car etc. But if running the 1/2 mile at the fastest time if your goal, there is nothing that will touch a UGR car.Um ok.
The absolute best thing about owning these cars is sharing the experience with others. Especially being able to share them with your kids. I feel lucky to be able to share these experiences and life is short. I know we are making memories that my kids will remember long after I am gone. Like my son telling his grand kids about the time his dad put him on the track when he was 14. There are certain things that are beyond value. As I approach 50 I realize that we should make the best of the experiences we have. I have the opportunity to do these things, so there is no doubt I am going to. Riding 'shot gun' to your 14 year old is the best feeling ever!

Having stuff is not making it. When I was younger, I had much more 'stuff' and realized I never really enjoyed it. Stuff does not make you happy. As I said,...it is fun and can add to the enjoyment, but my son and I could probably have just as much fun tweaking on a old 350z or brining a miata out to the track. Dont get lost in the chase. Happiness is in the present. Learn to look around and find all the things that are great about TODAY.No g-meter. I think there my be one buried in the dash functions, but I have not messed around with that. A lot of track guys run specific logging software/hardware. If I find that I get more into it, I may go that route. In the end, I am not trying to be the fastest guy out there. Just super cool to get to go out and share days like this with my son.

Im just waiting on the day they actually make an awd hellcat or above for challenger or charger. I originally was about to get a trackhawk when they first released just for this but the dealer markup was crazy & then looking at them now the price with the look of them not appearing much different from other cherokee's it probably would have lost its lust to own.

How did your brain injury affect you? Do you have memory / mood problems now? If there are lingering issues, what sort of mitigating measures or strategies do you use?

Also - GJDM with the family bonding. I'm jealous. Nothing matters more than building up others. Your time with the kids will matter more than any material possessions you can provide them.

Not a big fan of a hellcat regardless what they do to it. It is like a boat. I'd take a camaro ZL1 any day over a Hellcat. It is a car with a lot of power that can actually handle it. I dont dislike many cars, but Hellcats are probably first on the list. I seriously dont think I would take one if it was given to me. (if I had to keep it and not sell it). No thanks....He and I just got off a little grudge battle on the sim. Pretty amazing how well it can prepare you for the track!The brain injury is something hard to describe. You have no concept that anything is wrong with you. However you can start to notice it by the looks of pity others give you when you are not acting right. My issue was short term memory since my injury was frontal. I would repeat myself over and over and not remember I had just said the same thing to the person I was speaking with. It started out as bad. In the hospital, they wrote on a board in front of me,: You were in a helicopter crash, your wife is here, then they wrote the date. I had amnesia where I lost about 6 months of memories and some of that returned but not all. The recovery at home was hard. I was isolated in a collar and had to be sedated to sleep for a while since my injuries and trauma had my body jacked up for weeks. It was hard during this time to know where I was at.

My neurologist said to expect personality changes. I did experience some. Prior to my accident, I had pretty much unlimited patience with my kids. After the accident, I found myself getting frustrated very easily. I had to work hard in the first year or so on that. I also became very emotional, and still am uncontrollably at times. Sometimes odd things will make me cry. I cant control it at all. Anything with kids and parents and love of a family, I think I came so close to dying and saw the looks on my young kids faces (5 and 2 at the time) and it left something in my head that will never wash away. I find myself fighting back tears just typing this. I embrace it though. It is part of me.

Over time, my memory loop got longer and longer. I could not tell, but my wife could. She says I'm mostly 'normal' now, but I would never know. It gets hard to tell what is the result of your injury and what is normal life. You just have to go forward and not think about it or it will drive you crazy.

I also cant concentrate or recall like I used to. I used to have pretty much unlimited number recall and really recall of anything. My entire life I have been a compulsive reader and I have a pretty extensive knowledge of quite a few things all self taught. The accident slowed that down for me. But it has been a blessing in many ways. I found the ability to be present in the moment and enjoy each day. Prior to the accident, I could never calm my mind to be present. I was always thinking of what was next. Never did I enjoy the present. So that is the biggest change for me now. The accident was the best thing that ever happened to me.
