What's sadder is there is going to be a generation of zoomers looking back at today as the "good ole days".

The 2020's will clearly be the worst generation of our time. 2 years in, isolated, living on screens, everyone offended and pretentious.
Joining Sherdog.com doesn't make you an MMA expert, reading Saucehead's threads don't make you a player and if describe yourself as an "alpha male", chances are, you're not one.

The 00's were ok. American society definitely peaked in the 80s and 90s, but the 00s were still good times. Everything really did change in 2012

Summer '97 my best friend and I ran a LAN cable from his computer, out through the basement window, into the neighbor friend's house so we could play multiplayer Marathon. It felt so unbelievably high tech and that sums up what I love about the mid-late 90's. The early internet days felt absolutely magical and technology was evolving at such a rapid pace you were always in awe over something. Computers were easily obsolete within a year or two. I remember running dial-up 14.4 and my best friend told me I had to come check out his new 56k modem, went over and was blown away, could download a 3mb MP3 in less than 10 minutes, felt like warp speed.

Fuark I miss riding my beach cruiser bike to middle school with my friends and then coming home and playing Gamecube, swimming in the creek, skating etc etc. Adult life sucks in comparison.

Don't know if anyone already posted TRL, but this show was definitely a big part of the early 00s (2001 or so)

First husband played this a lot. I tried it for a day or two and realized that it was too addictive. Had to quit it or I wouldn't get anything else done at all.

This.

And it keeps happening BTW. I think it is because we don't see celebrities everyday the way we see ourselves so the changes hit harder. That's why the Clooney interview got my attention; he still is a handsome man but definitely shifting to grandpa vs. prime.

Just saw a commercial for kid's bedroom furniture from Living Spaces. Swear it looks like the 80s- the clothes they have on the kids [mom jeans? really?] and the style of the furniture looks like the old Cargo brand. I doubt it is an accident as they are selling to parents and grandparents.

Crazy how this thread is only from 2019 but even then we had such better of quality of life than we do now, nevermind the dates the photos were all taken in.
