Japan is a teeny little island country, right?
Fun video that shows actual sizes of various countries and land masses.
You have probably seen one of the "globe drawn to scale" maps at some point that look completely wrong after a lifetime of "normal" world maps. But here you see size relationships between things.
Like Japan if it was just off the east coast of the US:
Weird, right? Not so small.
Japan is actually larger than the UK:
Canada and China are about the same size:
Brazil is massive. Roughly the same size as Australia:
And then there is Antarctica which I don't think much about, but also doesn't look like much down there at the bottom:
That blue blob from the tip of Texas up to somewhere in the Arctic? Yeah, that's Antarctica.
