You got harassed because of timing unfortunately. In the last crypto thread, it was maybe a dozen guys constantly posting shilling what they were buying. This thread though was kind of peak bullrun so we went from like 12 regular posters saying what they were buying to 50+ randoms jumping in here claiming to have the next biggest schit coin.

I really have to consolidate some of my positions. Really spread my self too thin buying into hype and got small bags into too many alts. Like what's the point of having 35 MATIC, 50 ALGO, 20 MINA, etc.? I do this shiit with stocks too. FOMO must hit me hard

Such is misc lyfe. Anyways, I know it's quite pricey now but I recommend trying to get 250k DAG so that you can participate and run a node and earn some passive income. I think as soon as Mainnet 2.0 goes live this quarter (when anyone can run a node) they will have at least 1,000 nodes being run and I wouldn't doubt if it is closer to 2,000. All my opinion of course. Also, you can look into their DeFi play which is LTX (Lattice Exchange). They have built this to showcase the power of their mainnet (Hypergraph) and what you can really achieve with scaling/interoperability/low fees.
What are you on about mate?

Volume way up for ETH event on the overall market. Normally I would buy RIOT puts at this point in the technicals but might stay away from it. Could run up another day or two before we go back down

nope. not from what i have read. i gathered that a bunch of dopes in congress proposed some more strict crypto reporting regulations that were insanely broad. fortunately it looks like we are getting more and more congressman have crypto bags packed so there is a group (albeit small) who actually understand the hazard in proposing a bunch of nonsense regulations.

so that small group has proposed some amendments to the bill that specify who the reporting regulations should apply to (i.e. removing reporting requirements from miners, developers, and other technical players who have nothing to do with the selling or facilitating the transfer of crypto.

i think next step is to have them voted on or some sht. i dont see how they would be voted down seeing as how one of the stated reasons for the amendment proposal is to "prevent the stifling of innovation" which is a bit of a congressional buzz phrase.... combine that with the fact that the other members of congress are imbeciles when it comes to crypto, so i would think the amendments are safe

While I don't think anything drastic is going to get passed, I'm gonna go ahead and withdraw everything I have on CEXs. Most of my portfolio is in cold storage or defi but I do have some bags staking on CEXs.

Yeah one could argue that one of the uglier scenarios is that we find out who are the platform DINOs

"DeFi in Name Only"? Lol das it. If the govt shuts it down then the platform might have been centralized and fake af. That Could be painful tho and not what we want or need right now.

Yeah what they are asking for is impossible. Then the idea of miners reporting doesn't even make sense because they don't even have visibility into the transactions that they are validating. They literally have no valuable info to give to the IRS.

They'll get what they want from the CEX but not from the decentalized side. I do think some of the decentralized in name only may get caught in the carnage. Which could get ugly. I'm thinking about uniswap's recent cave into mainstream leaders.

*Edit
Looking it up now. Wait a minute uniswap is based in NYC? Am I reading that correctly ? That can't be right

I wish regulators would figure how a better way to define and tax cryptocurrencies before attempting to tackle the evasion problem. Treating cryptos like property is incorrect. At least not as a blanket regulation. There are different types of projects that need to be treated as such.

Having people pay a flat tax rate on each and every transactions AND air drops AND defi gains is ridiculous and tedious. It's a result of lawmakers that are out of touch with the technology and want to protect the status quo financial system because that's where they have skin in the game.

So I'm moving some cryptos around, peppering for worst case US regulation scenarios. Defi in name only has me paranoid now. I'm imagining a situation where lawmakers make it impossible for exchanges to operate without strict KYC/AML enforcement which causes a domino effect of people pulling their bags causing liquidity issues.

That being said, I'm confident that LPing using smart contracts is regulation resistant.

Best case scenario is lawmakers enact some dumbass anti crypto law and enforcement proves impossible which increases crypto confidence. Ironically this would serve to attract more illicit monies into the space.
