Live look at Fiver stock today.

Honestly it's the strangest thing i've seen in awhile. Tanking after earnings is nothing new, but no rebound? No choppy up and down sideways action while it tries to find it's new value? The 5 day chart is just lulzy to look at.

Imagine betting against SPY JFL. Where’s that other retard who wanted to take out a loan to get puts. QUIDEL and NET takings dumps. Good entry for both. I expect NET dips to keep getting eaten up so leaps on it soon. QUIDEL could be the play if testing and masks become mandatory. They pumped of the diagnostic tests and fell when they announced they sold less tests

Is it surprising to you that none of the shale or Canadian companies are boosting CAPEX? Seems like everyone is figuring this could be a small blip of high prices and we'll be headed back down? There isn't much interest on the part of investors to own a piece of oil companies either... I guess they'll miss out. Shale and Canadian alike appear to all be factoring in around 40% of profits returned to shareholders through buybacks and dividends...

I think a big chunk of that is driven by what shareholders want and are rewarding, which is more return of capital and not so much on the growth side.

The Canadian Energy Regulator forecasts our oil available for export increasing from 4.2MMb/d in 2019 to 4.9MMb/d in 2035 and then a decline to 4.6MMb/d by 2050. Canadian oil is still constrained by export capacity but with TransMountain and the Line 3 replacement underway -- Line 3 is expected to be in service by the end of the year. When TransMountain comes online, it should open up our exports to other markets (something like 97% of our crude goes to the US right now) and allow us to obtain better prices.

Also on the Canadian side, I expect big bucks to soon be spent on "greening" our production through significant carbon capture projects and other initiatives. I'm just waiting for the capex to start flowing in that direction and then will be looking to get on board with those projects, that would be fun stuff to work on.

Other oilbrahs might be able to shed light on the shale side as that's not really my focus aside from dynamics across the broader crude ecosystem

I found an index that tracked another index nearly in lockstep. In times of volatility, one index would lag the other for a month or two. So I bought it post COVID and returned around 40% more than the other index in a matter of like 6-9 months. Made a TON of money with that move that normally would have taken 3-4 years.
