What a great way to open us up for all kinds of invasions of privacy. You see, the argument is this “who the hell would be against catching these terrible people!!?”. In reality, it’s just more of the same bad principles. Allowing private businesses to invade privacy in the name of virtue.

They're likely just going to compare image and video hashes to the FBI database. I doubt they're going to spend money on resources to use AI image recognition or pay people to look at images/video.





What Apple is proposing will instantly be abused and used against owners of Apple devices. Likely for ad targeting or behavior modification. It will also make it easier for non-state-sponsored entities to frame people.
