Keeping a dog inside is cruel

Someone just told me that keeping a dog outside is cruel and I was like wtf. Obviously breed dependent, but when did it become acceptable to keep a 60 pound husky in a one bedroom apartment.

I see this is quite common in urban america but to me its cruel and makes the animal miserable. Brb take an athletic dog that has been bred for centuries to work, hunt or herd OUTSIDE and you force it to sit on your couch all day.

Dogs should primarily be outside with the freedom to roam around and play in nature. If you don't have the adequate outdoor space to do this then you shouldn't get a dog period. These so called "Dog lovers" with their emotional support animals are causing more harm than good.

You're anthropomorphizing.

Dogs love dark, confined spaces to sleep in.

Agree though that nobody should keep a dog in an urban environment.

No I'm doing the opposite. I'm saying that dogs should be treated as dogs and not as gluten free children.

I do agree that dogs need an outdoor space to play but there’s also a lot of dogs in shelters that need to be adopted. In my opinion, a dog living in a small apartment with a loving owner is a better alternative to a shelter.

I think dogs in big cities should be outlawed srs. Bad for the city and bad for the dogs.

Im in NYC and there’s chit and piss EVERYWHERE srs. Take a turn into a more or less residential neighborhood (and im talking manhattan) the pavement has smears of chit and piss all over. Its fukking disgusting to even walk. I cant imagine what people with kids do.

And then there are kunts who dont even pick up dog chit, which itself looks disgusting but its the least u can do. They should be fined like a mf, and every dog owner at least should carry a cleaning brush and some soap to clean the diarhea and piss off the pavement, both are disgusting.

Some time ago I was walking in soho and people are dining outside and this big dog squats and takes a giant chit right between the row of outside tables and the restaurant windows. How the **** are people ok with this?

Then there is the noise. I live in a new building with good noise isolation so I dont hear the yapping but it drove me fukking crazy when i lived in an older building before. And the dogs sound legit miserable stuck in their closet of an apartment all day.

These kunts keep these huge dogs in their 2x2 foot apartments (and often cages so they dont fukk up the furniture) and act like they love them. I genuinely like dogs and animals (all these problems are caused by humans bringing animals into environments they shouldnt be in) and think this is abuse.

Then there are kunts who dont control their dog. You be standing in an elevator and their wet dirty dog is all over you and the kunt is standing there smiling like im supposed to go awwww. Ill pet a random dog but it should be my fukking decision if i want contact.

A dog is a companion and shouldn't be left alone for long periods of time whether indoors or outside. Unless they are a working breed and are content being alone guarding
