- Opening bullchit: First thing dwarf says, he screams (and I've covered this) CALORIES IN CALORIES OUT! IT'S THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS!

- 1 minute in: Next point, just get his cook book. So, he's now plugging food choices one assumes, completely contradicting himself and I will note, shilling his own overpriced recipes in the process.

- 1:40m: Woman cites a study, dwarf cuts her off before she actually says anything about it. Dwarf screams he doesn't care what the study showed. Said you need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight - pretending like the woman or anyone said otherwise. He then explains CICO in a way that makes it out as the only thing that matters (so why get his cook book, then?)

- 2:15m: While he gives himself minutes to speak, he showcases the woman exclusively for ~5-10 seconds at a time (up to this point). Here she says CICO is oversimplified (as the video started with). Dwarf cuts to himself, same freak-out we've talked about. He expands this time, repeating CICO is the only factor that matters, while putting up *another* plug for his cook book. Again, if CICO is the only factor - why am I getting this cook book and not just eating at McDonalds that lists the exact calorie-count of their trash meals, again?

- 2:45m: Woman gets 6 seconds this time. Says long-term CICO isn't effective (and studies say:She is 100% correct). Dr. Douche says it's because people ALWAYS start eating more. That's why. The studies I'm familiar with (longterm ones with thousands of people in them) show something like 98% failure rate, where people end up at the same where they started. I could address this, and will below - hint: It's not just CICO. Anyway, he says the failures are always because people stop dieting. In a way he's right, but again, more below as to why. He's plugging his cook book again, of course. All this video is -- a long boring commercial for this steroid abusing runt's cook book.

- 3:15m: (getting bb.com errored) I feel like she only got to make 1/2 a point before he cut her off here

- 3:40m: 3 seconds for her this time, I do not think she even finished a full sentence. Btw, this fuking video is almost 14 minutes long. I'm done after this. Fuk this video, fuk anyone who thinks it's "good content bro!" or whatever anyone was saying about it.

Fuk him, fuk this video, fuk anyone who watched it and liked it.

CICO works for this shrimp. It works because he injects massive amounts of PEDs into his ass bi-weekly. He *can* diet on *anything* and it will work. He can probably gain muscle and lose weight at the same time dieting on protein shakes and ice cream if he's juiced up enough.

For the rest of us --food choices matter. Nobody will lose weight without either a hacksaw or dropping calories, sure -- BUT that is not the entire picture. If I said to gain muscle ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS LIFT WEIGHTS and ignored diet and recovery, I'd be wrong. You still have to fuking work out, yes, but there is more to the equation.

With natural dieters, you need to cut calories and you need to maintain your metabolism. You need to have a handle on other hormones as well: insulin, ghrelin, cortisol, leptin, IGF1, etc... in thelong runit all fuking matters. Calories are important and completely essential BUT like with gaining muscle and needing a balance of training/diet/recovery to gain, same thing with fat loss. Particularly in the long term to lose weight and keep it off.

This shouting idiot also believes that, even though he says otherwise, as he plus his cook book no less than four or five times in the first few minutes alone of this trash commercial/video.

Again, fuk it, fuk him.
his cookbook works for losing weight, however, its an unhealthy way of losing wieght.

- People post here and continually say the screaming dwarf later gives a nuanced answer that explains why CICO is actually oversimplified. I wouldn't know, I didn't bother.

If Dr. Dwarf actually believed that it's more nuanced than CICO - why did he start the video with the woman simply saying it's oversimplified and then cutting to himself, looking shocked and screaming in his girly way that it's the only thing that matters?

Yeah, maybe the entirety of her video was wrong. I only saw the one sentence he started his video with and screeched about.

Someone *defend* why he did this. Everyone wants to say how he actually did some great job of explaining himself - but if that's true, it completely invalidated his OPENING statement that he screamed at the top of his girly lungs.
You admittedly only watched 10 seconds of the video and proceed to tell the quoted person that he's flat out wrong? Wut?

You're so concentrated and hung up on one statement he said but if you bothered to watch the video you would understand the exact point he was trying to get across. One thing he says that one could perceive as wrong without watching the rest of the video doesn't invalidate the entire video. He's not going to be correct on everything but he makes some good points which again if you watched the video ... you don't have to agree with everything, not sure why it's an all or nothing just based on one thing.

As for why he said it is "all about CICO". Could be various reasons. From a scientific standpoint, the main mechanism underlying weight loss and weight gain in an individual is most CICO. Most of weight loss and weight gain is going to be influenced most by this concept. Perhaps he embellished it to say "all about" to make a point who knows. Yes it is oversimplified, but in the context of somebody who over-complicates things and denies that the underlying main mechanism is CICO, he may have used stronger language for the shock value or to get his point across although yes, it is more nuanced, to a degree.

Not saying I agree with everything he said, or even defending him for that matter, but you basically just dismissed everything he tried to say off and argue for off of 10 seconds. People may say some incorrect things, or things that may not be entirely true, but that doesn't mean everything else afterwards is suddenly garbage or is representative off of just one statement made.

Just like news headlines, or some of these threads. The headline is something that sounds almost definitive but if you read it, you realize there is more to it than just the title, you might find yourself agreeing to or at least acknowledging there are some points even if you don't agree in its entirety..

You know how anyone can guaranteed lose weight/fat?

Step one, step on a scale.
Step two, eat no more than 3 slices of pizza a day for every 80lbs of bodyweight.
Step three, drink some water.
Step four, and this is the important one: TAKE A LOT OF STEROIDS.

Boom, success. Don't need to buy a book, just read four sentences.

I don't care about his cook book, though. For all I know it's filled with awesome recipes that work for anyone, even if they are not a height-challenged dwarf with a micropenis who compensates for this by abusing PEDs, screaming and taking pictures of sports cars he may-or-may-not-actually-own and showing off.

I am only arguing this video, the awful content of it (to be fair, the ~4 minutes I could stomach) and how even by his own words he's contradicting himself and his cook book. How anyone can watch this and think it's great, I don't understand.

Woman: Is allowed 5 seconds to make a partial point
Dwarf: responds, pretends she said things she never got to say, screams CICO is the only thing that matters and proceeds to plug an overpriced cook book

Why? How is that 'good' by any definition of the word again? (and not you, I'm talking anyone itt who said that)

In the first 10 seconds:
- Woman says CICO isoversimplified
- Douche says it is the only factor
- Poster states woman said, "Person says calorie restriction doesn't work (aka CICO)"

Yes, that is flat out wrong and it only took 10 seconds. Since then, I've watch now 4 minutes of the video, and it only got worse from there.
You're so concentrated and hung up on one statement he said but if you bothered to watch the video you would understand the exact point he was trying to get across.
The only point he made, "CICO IS GOD! BUY MY COOKBOOK! IT WORKS! COOKBOOK! BUY IT! BUY IT NOW! GET IT!! CALORIES IN CALORIES OUT IT'S THE ONLY THING! YOU NEED MY COOKBOOK!" clearly cutting the woman off *mid sentence* as she's making a point, arguing things she never got to even say, over simplifying everything all the while shilling for his cook book. What did you watch that was drastically different than that?
As for why he said it is "all about CICO". Could be various reasons. From a scientific standpoint, the main mechanism underlying weight loss and weight gain in an individual is most CICO. I've watched more since then. He *ONLY* said two things, repeated over and over

a) CICO is not oversimplified and is the only thing that matters, period
b) buy my cook book

Clearly you didn't watch even the 10 seconds I had, nor the 4 wasted minutes of my life I eventually suffered through.

Agree to disagree I guess. I will note, I don't think my feelings are unwarranted. I'm watching a huckster, not even a good one, and feel appropriately.

fukking blows my mind all the time how people dont understand these are TWO different things

losing weight
losing fat

losing weigh =/= losing fat

you can lose weight and gain fat

you can lose weight and gain muslce

you can gain weight and lose fat

WHAT weight you can and WHAT weight you lose depends on all the other variables outside of CICO
CICO is SOLELY about weight loss, not fat loss.

All weight is is a number on a scale. Theres so many factors in a persons weight its fukking stupid. Theres guys who look the exact same size and BF as me but weigh 30lbs less because of there being way more factors to weight than bodyfat.

CICI works.

But CICO does not take into account actual nutrition.

Some people seem to like him.

The argument for him here, as far as I can tell is:

"Yes he screams at the top of his lungs repeatedly that the only thing that matters is CICO, but he goes on later to say it doesn't. It's a good video because of this."

.. and from my rather pained experience, while I only lasted ~4min, at no point did he ever say anything other than CICO was a factor other than buying his cook book. Maybe he whispered it at the end or something. Like, "BUY MY COOKBOOK! CALORIES IN CALORIES OUT! IT'S IT! NOTHING ELSE! (whisper) CICO is actually a oversimplification (back to screaming) MY COOKBOOK IS ALL YOU NEED!" kind of way.

Yeah, CICO is all you need to know, when you're pumping yourself full of hormones bi-weekly. Duh. To anyone else who isn't full of massive amounts of injections, we need to be more concerned with hormones. For a hardcore juicer, maybe a calorie coming from ice cream IS no different than a calorie from steak, a calorie from broccoli or a calorie from white rice. Whatever effect those different foods have on a normal person's hormones hardly matters when you're injecting x20 that every 3 days.

Now, for me, who does not abuse PEDs, I actually do need to be aware of insulin, ghrelin, cortisol, leptinand my natural test production - because that is all I got. So, when I diet, I can not just count calories and diet down on a couple slices of pizza or whatever provided it's below 1800 kcal or whatever my cut dictates. Moreover, because I am natural, if I do cut too drastically or for too long - I do have to deal with metobolic issues unknown to a hardcore juicer. My metabolism will slow down and I'll have major repercussions, not just to my fat-loss goals but down the line.

This short fuk can diet on 400 calories a day obtained from 2 slices of pizza and a pepsi and he's fuking good to go, he might even gain muscle while doing it, then he's going to preach to me how to lose weight? Fuk this fraud.
Someone on tech has to be just as concerned as a natty about all of those things too.

And no, he cant diet on 400 calories of pizza and pop and be good to go and potentially gain muscle. Sounds like you are looking for excuses a bit bro.

"Just as concerned"

Right because massive hormones being injected into your body bi-weekly actually don't do much. It's not excuses, I can gain or lose fat and it's not that hard, I just can't do it eating candy or anything I want as long as my daily kcals are 1,800 give or take. 400 kcal from pizza slices and a coke might be a tab of an exaggeration - but not much of one, if someone is juiced up.

Agree to disagree though, not to disrespect your opinion, but if you reply I probably won't as I don't care to be dragged into some debate as to whether PEDs work or to what degree. People can make up their own mind there.

In my opinion they are game changers and can cover up for massive shortcomings in someone training, diet and/or recovery. You seem to think they are less and we strongly disagree.

Never mind a hardcore cycle like a pro might run, I've seen first hand what 1/10th what a basement level gymbro takes when I was briefly on doctor prescribed HRT. Even a tiny smattering, actively trying not to go overboard, can make a massive difference. This was just T and not a whole lot, not even taking into account all the very specific things they take to bulk/cut and do their job.

Yes he can actually, studies showed that people not working out + bicycling vitamin T (without any particular diet) gained more muscle and lost more fat than people following RT + Diet.

so think about the effect of said vitamins + RT + Diet.

EDIT: and what he probably meant by not being concerned by these "things" is that superphysiologic levels of these vitamins offset many negatives of these "things" you bolded.

Reminds me of someone...

A quick google search, Dr. Duck is apparently worth 1.6mil if you believe random links that are the first thing to pop up. Nice, not bad at all - but hardly multiple Lambo/Ferrari money either, unless he's literally spending everything he has to make payments on 5 cars.

so think about the effect of said vitamins + RT + Diet.

yeah ive read those stuides, its all water mate, go start a test e + anadrol cycle and go high carb and without working out youll still blow up with water and glycogen. That would be measured as 'muscle gained' in these studies but its not muscle tissue

OOC, to veer things back to the thread, do you support Douchette's claim that CICO is the only factor to lose fat?

Not that it's important, not that you must cut calories at some point to lose weight, not that it's isn't a big deal and vital to any weight loss program -- but that it's the only factor and saying CICO is not an over simplification?

Recap:
<Video starts>
<Normal blonde woman, looks educated and smart and speaks as such>
Woman: Anyone who tells you 'Calories in, calories out' is all you need to know is over-simplifying.
<Immediate cut. Camera now shows a dwarf who is clearly abusing PEDs>
<Shrill little dwarf has an exaggerated and fake look of shock on his face>
Dwarf, screaming in a high-pitched frantic manner: IT'S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!!!! CALORIES IN!! CALORIES OUT!!!! OF COURSE!!!!! IT'S ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW!!

good observation but nope, there were followup studies to analyse the gains precisely.

the followup analysis of the second study showed clearly that the increasing doses of anabolics were associated with muscle fiber growth in both Type I and Type II fibers and increased myonuclear number and it occurred in healthy males doing no training.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12067856/

EDIT: the same researchers also showed that anabolics alone (once again w/o RT and w/o particular diet) activate satellite cells (cellular vectors or myo growth).

Nah I completely agree with you, and you're correct that the details matter even more for a natty as muscle loss is a genuine concern as opposed to an enhanced athlete, but thats pretty much the main difference, I only really objected to the claim that issued regarding leptin, ghrelin matter less for an enhanced athlete
may god forgive me

For those wondering about his cookbook. It is decent but not worth the price. Also book is not good for naturals. Everything in the book is based of low fat recipes. His book certainly works for cutting, but if your natty make sure to include enough fats in your diet otherwise you will tank your t levels hard.

Sign of a good dude to admit they stand corrected. Also, whatever disagreement we have, it's closing in on less and less. My main beef itt is this dude's video.

... but to go off topic a little, studies on muscle growth were done on Sumo Wrestlers, not actively training (unlike today, back when this study was done, the thinking was to actually do as little as possible and not burn any calories so you gained more). They of course are constantly eating and while they do put on enormous amounts of fat, they actually gain a ton of muscle. Their LBMs are actually damn high, it's just that their overall fb%s are ridiculous along with it.

I question why anyone using PEDs needs this guy's cookbook to begin with.

Two, his own words - CICO is the only thing that matters and you don't need to know anything else. So, why his recipes? The calories from a McDonald's burger are the same as the calories from his meals. I can count those McDonalds ones easily. As they are, in his opinion, the same -- why do I need his cook book?

Again, his words - the calories are ALL that matters and you do not need to know anything but that. I don't want to hear about how his recipes are better because they are more satiating or promote muscle growth (or keep it from being burnt) or any of that. HIS WORDS: I do not need to know anything.

Using Dr. Duck's logic, why - tell me why anyone should buy his fuking book.

Does he need to yell the entire time?

I really think bb.com would get so much more traffic if they allowed sauce talk instead of these pseudo nutritionists

Not sure why a bb company would not allow sauce talk when everybody knows that IS bodybuilding
