Calling out Houston Miscers

Tell me about Liberty Texas

thinking about moving there, want to escape my libtard state. Will my house get flooded, is it full of old people, it is too far from houston? is there a buc-ee's nearby?

Currently I commute up to 90 minutes (dc) for work

How about webstar?

mid range places cheaper than the woodlands, league, Galveston, etc

You do NOT want to commute 90 minutes to Houston especially since the traffic got way worse over the past few years. Try to keep it 30 mins or less. Are you working downtown?

You can actually get a very small house like that in liberty the size of a one BR condo, I've seen a lot of non-traditional style homes very small homes all over texas (that aren't trailers) that would not appeal to someone who is just going to bend over for a 300k 30 year loan for 1200sq ft. in the woodlands. Wouldn't appeal to a family at that size.. etc etc some have been on the market for awhile and aren't in the most convenient locations. Probably could get a bite on a offer well under the already low prices. What you lose in by lower appreciation would be gained in not having a mortgage imo

I'm in health so I can pretty much work anywhere, in my state it pays a little more to work in rural areas though. Not sure on texas. Just figured to be close a big city because obviously they have more jobs if needed. When I commuted 90min to DC it was during an internship and it did suck and it's pretty much the norm where I live. Everyone I know has an hour + commute and DC metro is ranked the worst commute over LA in the country.

yeah, my searches on various websites pick up no properties (even land) under 125k in Austin or the remotely close subs

Austin is on fire right now, anything and everything is going for a premium, even tiny condos. When I visited I preferred houston and SA though, touring the capital was cool.
