All the status signaling of a genuine Rolex for the price of a Citizen.

Not that there's much status conferred from having a Rolex anymore anyways...most people I see with one make $60k in a good year.

Isn't buying a genuine just throwing money down a rathole?

Are you gonna tell people you bought a fake? Or are you gonna lie? lol Why would you want to go around in life pretending to be something you're not?

Basically this. You can fool people but you're still a dishonest loser. Your body language is going to show that you're frauding as well, women in particular will pick up on cues like that. Who are you going to impress, really? A random sloot at the bar? Anyone who knows you on a deeper level knows your actual level of wealth and if you can afford to be casually rocking a 5-15k watch.

LOL if you think people can judge wealth at a glance or by body language. You've been brainwashed by the marketers buddy.

How many wealthy people do you associate with? How am I 'brainwashed' by marketers?' I don't wear Rolexes, I have some chit like Creed Aventus, expensive boots, etc. that are actually quality that you can't really fake but I don't blow my money on designer chit or expensive cars. But you can judge wealth at a glance and you can judge awkwardness/frauding through body language. But since you're probably a wincel alt you don't realize that.

Funny you post a gif of him. Do you think his watches are fakes? He's a huge watch guy.

What do you think he'd think of someone wearing a fake?

Rolex fakes are so good nowadays you have to take them to an authorized dealer to take it apart and examine the internals. Rolex is like Bose. They make good quality but the price is inflated due to great marketing.

Now a Grand Seiko Snowflake or White Birch slgh005? Yes, totally worth it.

Collectors are different - they buy watches for the passion.

There's no passion in paying $25,000 for the 69,000th gray-market 11610 which only has value because Rolex artificially restricts the supply.

The more you look at luxury stuff like this, the more you realize how most of it is really just control of supply. We could probably argue that some things actually structurally limited to certain numbers versus intentionally restricting them despite having capacity, but it's a tricky line to walk and justify

Even when it comes to art etc, stuff generally doesn't become valuable until the artist is dead and supply is cut off. And the pieces of art fetching insane values, well they generally come from artists who died young and thus didn't produce many works but became famous

Like this Basquiat that was valued at $400k

Imagine you finally con your way in by some type of luck or someone you know and get to intermingle with the elites, so much opportunity awaits as these people can help you get a upper level and then one of them says "Pardon, where did you get that replica Rolex, I was almost fooled." and everyone is just looking at you, then they all look away and the butler escorts you out.

On a SRS note though, only people who should get those watches are those with massive wealth, or maybe someone who is just that into watches.

A lot (not all) rich people are extremely cheap.

I knew of one guy with at least $25m net worth, his kid would wear DARE T-shirts to public school.

I made a thread about this before.

There’s nothing wrong with rocking fake designer clothes. A fake Rolex can cost as little as $50. IMO it’s borderline retarded to buy the real thing.

Hate to say it but this.

I own a real Breitling Avenger, one of those "nice" $400 repica Rolex watches, and a Fossil skeleton watch.

The only watch that got complements/attention was the fuarking fossil.

You buy expensive watches to impress bankers and other dudes. Only gold diggers notice. srs.

I only wear a Casio MDV106 with $10 NATO straps from Amazon.

So many people comment on my watch thinking it something fancy. It has the timeless style of a Rolex Submariners but costs a fraction of the price. I've had numerous people ask me if it was a Rolex Submariner (obviously these people weren't watch people) but I dress as if I just got out of business meeting 98% of the time I go to a bar/restaurant so that plays into it as well.

However, even actual watch people comment on it and they respect the Casio MDV106 for what it is. Can't go wrong.

Plus, you'll never embarrass yourself when asked if it's Rolex by someone trying to bait you to lie because they know it's fake.

A 500 fake isn’t the same as a real Rolex. Trust me I’ve had both. The real Rolex is infinitely better made and won’t break like the ****ty fake made in China.

Some of the high-end fakes are almost as impressive as the real thing and the fakers are constantly refining their techniques, plenty of the big watch YouTubers cover this stuff. Even when it comes to the movements, a lot of the shortcomings aren’t visible to the naked eye or even with a macro lens unless you have a verified real watch to do a side-by-side comparison

With Rolex especially you’re paying a big premium for the control on supply, not necessarily true value in terms of labour / material / equipment costs sunk into manufacturing the watches

Look at this fukn Nautilus fake
