When I was training at Comcast we climbed 40ft poles and played basketball. It was our trainers way to get us comfy with the heights. Since then I was never worried going mid-span (putting the hooks of your ladder on the cable itself, not the pole) or the tallest of our poles at 60ft.

I was 460lbs at the time.....

I've only met maybe a handful of ironworkers who would do that type of stuff, the same guys who would be into high angle rescue chit

This is about as high as it gets on my current project

Yeah weโ€™re all trained on high angle rescue every 2 years as well.

Respect brah, iron working is my second choice. If I ever decide to leave this job Iโ€™ll move into landing steel as an iron worker.

We actually get started at a higher rate and a portion of our hours count toward iron working because of our rigging experience.
