Is reinventing yourself realistic? Srs

Meaning, has anyone here just kind of withdrawn from everyone (other than family) for a year and dramatically changed yourself, your outlook, your hobbies, etc. Made yourself better? Just got out of a long term relationship, 6 yrs to be exact, and thought that maybe this would be a good thing to try. Just a life reset.

Please respect the srs tag. Misc gentlemanly rules and all.

Withdrawing yourself for a year doesn't sound like the way to do it. If anything i'd do the exact opposite of that if I wanted to change myself for the better.

Happens all the time, usually with people that hit rock bottom and realize it or people that have near death experiences.

Yeah but dont expect it to be easy as people from your past will expect you to still conform to and be that "old" guy. Part of the reason why i moved the fuk out of where i was.

I'm constantly reinventing myself, to an extent. I'm not the same person I was 6 months ago, and wasn't the same person from that, that I was 10 years ago. And so on.

Yeah that's true. tbh not sure why a life reset would be in order if you are newly single

Maybe OP lost his girl for XYZ reasons and wants to see if he can change so he isn’t as much of a soy as he was before , so many newly single guys end up not getting laid because they’ve become these fat degen slobs while with their girl,

No chick is going to stop wanting to fk u if u care about yourself, have goals and pursue em, and are grounded

Of course it's realistic. Generally speaking, if you are not where you want to be mentally, physically, emotionally etc, you usually end up with women that are on the same level as you. Taking a year off to level up is a great idea. If you meet someone along the way, great. If not, you will be a much stronger force when you put yourself back out there. Personally, I am always improving and never take time off, and every girl I've ever dated is better than the last one (very srs) but do whatever makes you happy bro.

Thanks A-GAME, always had a lot of respect for you here. Trust me, It's not about broads. I can get women when I want. It's just not a priority right now.

start with simple things. but the number one thing is confidence. you can be the cutest cute boy out there and if youre awkward af and insecure and have no confidence then youre weird af. now think about this. with confidence it works the same way the opposite way. do the gym stuff and find a new hobby you like doing and meet friends if need be thru your hobby. people want positive energy in their lives my guy and everyone is dealing with their own stuff. so if youre funny and happy and just confident people will love being around you. its going to take time, but i promise you you will make it. ive been depressed in a hole too. eye on the prize.

no such thing as reinventing yourself, your priorities just change.

heres an example, you might be one of the 90% of the fail in life individuals..meaning ,you spend youre time drinking, smoking weed,a high school drop out who does minimum wage .......... now out of the 90% around 5 % snap out and realize how much of a fail in life they are .... so they change priorities.... they start focusing on their studies,school/college/career and they make it out into the real world as a tier 1 citizen were your kids will end up being served by the kids of other failures in life

I did this 5 years ago. Also had ended an 8yr relationship. Best decision I ever made.

Taking control of your life is the most important thing a man can do for himself.

Hoping the best for you, op. Srs.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.
