EVs, why or why not
Electric vehicles as a daily driver - Tesla, Nissan Leaf, etc
Why or why not? I'm considering replacing my daily driver with an EV. My car is a 2016 that I've only managed to put 31k miles on so I don't drive too much.
Will I get radiation poisoning and balls shrivel from all the electronic shid

EV's as an appliance.....strictly as daily driver to and from the office/grocery/gym sure, especially if you have a relatively short commute between all.
But I view them strictly as that.....an appliance.

Wait till they drop the bomb on you when you go to trade in that the resale is worthless because nobody wants a car with a battery that's degraded and will have to be replaced.

Wait until the govt forces evs on us all...and systematically starts shuttering power plants.
Soon evs with be mandated in have "analytics and cameras" to watch your every move, already happening in some respects.
EVs are about one thing- control.

Range, charging stations, and time to charge are all big reasons to just say no.
As stated above, if you've got a short commute to work and have no social life - i.e., can charge it every single night after work so the charge time doesn't affect you and never need it for long vacation trips - then go for it.

Honestly I like the idea of EVs, the only problem now is that there is no infrastructure to support them outside of major cities. What good is an EV If I cant stop for a bit to charge it up? I would totally own a tesla for commuting otherwise.

Can you use the Tesla grid to charge a non-Tesla?https://www.tesla.com/supercharger
Was considering the new Leaf with the extended battery. It's rare that I travel but every now and then I go see my siblings who live about 8 hours/500 miles away.
On average, I drive about 20 miles a day at most so one full charge should last just over a week.

The duration of a charge is getting better and better as the tech advances. I'm thinking in 3-5 years when I replace my current car it will be easy and charging stations will be everywhere.

If you haven't already, rent one for a few days to a week.
The regenerative breaking can be annoying to some. And the instant torque is pretty addictive if you like that kinda stuff. The stuff you don't experience is the difference to maintenance costs or the burden of finding suitable charging points for all long journeys (tho the sat nav will factor charging into your trip, if anything like Tesla)
The amount of miles you're doing, it's probably not gonna kill the battery in a good few years.

Imagine a world where most vehicles are EVs.. Then a gridlock traffic hits and most people's batteries die. Imagine the profits towing companies will make, and the impossibility of interstate travel due to the fact

Marketing BS. Makes no sense from an environmental perspective to replace private vehicles with their electric counterparts. I bet the energy needed to re-place every single ICU car out there will offset any emissions benefit from the move. A true environmental and sustainable sollution would be a radical change, to rethink the way we move and invest heavily into better, more efficient, safer and more available public transport and inter-city connectivity.
Electric trams, electric buses, inter city rail, etc. That would be a truly sustainable, long term viable solution, mixed with better and more efficient city planing and such. Sadly that would destroy the potential profits from the reconversion while the oligarchs cuck us all.
This whole push for EV private vehicles is just cope and the oligarchs making a killing on profits while the real underlying issue gets pushed aside, all while patting themselves on their backs while they hop on into their private jets thinking their saving the world. Fuk tesla and fuk musk. That whole self driving bs enrages me like no other, brb spending 100K on a vehicle where you can just seat and takes you from point A to point B. That's called the fuken bus you kunts!
