aaaaAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

you know how I know youre a noob to sims??

Youre using the default UI on Asssetto Corsa LMFAOOOOOO

ah ok so you just started to get into it... thats cute. I hope you realize my setup is fully VR btw.

No but seriously what makes you think youre qualified to speak on whether or not a simulator is relevant to racing and racecraft or not? Or how useful it could be? Have you done any case studies and tracked development of drivers with and without access to sims and for how many years did you do these studies.

Again, im kidding because you have no clue what youre talking about, you still have your rig setup in a basic way. I assume you have no transducers on there either since its a stock 80/20 rig with the standard Fanatec shopping cart build. Yunno, the vibrations that actually tell you what the physics are doing in the seat instead of just the wheel...

Are you aware they sent Lewis Hamilton himself back on the simulator this season because he cant keep up with Max Verstappen anymore?

Are you aware the people who taught me sim racing and setups are literally the same group of people who are on Team Redline and teach people like Max and Lando and Atze Kerkhof? One of my best Polish buddies actually trains and does practices with Phillipe fuking Massa. My other friend from China one of the most prolifically dominant racers in the history of sims has an over 50% win rate in top splits in iRacing which more crazy alien than even Max himself.

Get back to me when you have mastered AC, iRacing, rFactor and have world records in anything really till you can understand the sheer amount of work and development we put in.

Oh and here's the kicker, once drivers of our caliber go onto real tracks, gasp its actually easier because we have more feedback under the seat. We have MORE information that is added on top of our already maximally developed sense of spatial awareness and performance.

I can hit the same lap within a 10th of each other 10 times in a row like a true performer. A racer is like an actor performing a perfect flawless performance. An Actor prepares. A driver prepares. For you to say that massive amount of pre preperation are nominally useful is asinine.

You will never understand just how impossible it is for someone to who only drives a few dozen or hundred laps to keep up and compete vs someone who has unlimited laps and practice.

To say sims don't really translate to real life is kinda backwards. In fact its the opposite, no real life driver can compete without sim work. Just because you yourself didn't feel the "benefit" doesn't mean there arent others who go much deeper and can eschew parallels and usefulness out of it.

You see it in every facet of the sports now despite cucks and casuals saying the last decade (as technology was catching up and surpassing them) that sims arent like real life, but now they got everyone and their uncle on the bandwagon. Look at how they humbled people like Daniel Ricciardo are in F1. he is even getting almost lapped by his sim racing legend partner Lando in races because Daniel drives in a binary way limited by "real life" and Lando has a whole tool box of versatility he got from the variety of work he does.

Its like the overwhelming theme in all racing right now. So yeah, not only could I jump in one of those cars and already know what its like from the Sim, but I could easily drive circles around you and anyone who isn't on my level. Yes including your buddy who "almost" made it. Even the bottom 15 drivers in F1 arent on my level. We are a special breed. Did I mention I have world records that I spent months on by crafting my own personal setups?

come talk to me when you or your little guy have a world record. If you need some AC setup tips or mods and what else to get for your rig let me know lol.

I thought you had a Blue Huracan I was mostly commenting on that type of car. Regular street Lambos are considered pretty dog to drive from a pure drive sense. They have literally too much power for their weight and grip levels. Thats not to say its a bad thing, just they arent cornering monsters like lets compare to high end Porches or Mercs or GT3 cars or something. They can become one sure, but in general its a weird sloppy ride, with a lot of artificial acceleration and sheer HP to make up for the boxy handling. Yeah you can go fast in one cuz its fast, but its relative to its own limits which are like I said a bit imbalanced.

You have to brake and accelerate a lot more before and after cornering to make up in a straight line comparing to a perfectly tuned supercar of its class that has more grip.

This thread wasnt really about training, but I had made one last friday. I knew the typical MISC nattie topic would come up, so I put it in there. And KingSWRV wanted to show how smart he was in that one also. Apparently he does not know that when you actually lift, your abs get big too

What you are asking is in the first post. Nothing to hide here. A lot of guys wont like it, but I have no reason to lie. And yes, I posted pics. I am a put up or shut up guy.

Bottom pics in the first post were my last lifetime natty pics.

OP I have a very random question for you. If it's too personal you don't have to answer but can you tell me what kind of music your son listens to and who his favorite artist is?

I want to see what actual rich kids listen to today.

Think you need to step outside your sim world. The STOCK 610-4 beats a GT3RS in almost every recorded sessions. Only exception is Nurbruing which Lambo did not officially do with the 610 and Porsche put their full factor support behind.

You really live in a little fantasy world where you believe what you write. I can tell you there is a difference when your butt is on the line. When you are not only risking life, but 100's of thousands of dollars of your money.

This is what happens when my son finds the limits of the car. There is no reset button in real life. Very easy to put a VR headset on and shoot people and get shot at. It is a very different proposition when you can actually die. Car sims are much the same. Super easy to push the limits with NO risk

bro wtf

lmao

see thats what im talking about. Look how unstable it is that looked like its a 28 mph spin lol it doesn't take much.

Thats unsafe for real.

Gotta learn the car and its peculiarities and throttle control on the sim first. And yeah thats exactly why its beneficial is because you can practice going right up to and even past the limit over and over. Thats the boast, you can drive and explore the car in a safe way you cant do in real life which is valuable information if the physics models match and are similar enough to translate (which they usually are with quality mods).

Is this your car pretty much? Minus the performante?

Like I said, I can drive it, im sure its overall quick... just its a bit floaty thats all...

...
You are a bit off. That is a hard (greater than 90 deg) turn after the fastest straight on the track. Remember, this was the FIRST time my son has actually driven a car. This was also after 3 other sessions and he was starting to feel a little TOO comfortable. After hitting approx 140 on the straight, he lifted and coasted in the hard left. He should have been slamming on the brakes and you can hear me saying 'brake brake brake" as we approach. He was on them but not hard enough. He then kept trail braking and that caused the spin. The spin was actually quite controllable vs say a 911. He kept it on the track. A 911 will snap around in a minute. The huracan will not oversteer like a 911 and it was quite a nice calm all wheel drift that ended in a lazy spin. If we were in a 911, my son would have been in the tires. The fact that huracan is so stable is why he kept it on the track.

And I can see you dont know a lot about cars. The Performante is a huracan which is modified for track use. Equivalent to a GT3RS in the porsche line. It is like 70kg lighter through the use of more carbon and has active aero fitted. My car is a 610-4 but modified. I am putting out about 200 more HP than a performante so the car is very fast. Almost too much power for the track and WAAY too much torque.

You cant simulate throttle induced oscillations in a sim, but this car gets them bad on the track and has so much torque you have to change how you drive it. Again, a sim cant experience that.

At the end of the day, realize your sim time is sim time. In the sim world you drive fast. It is not 100% carryover and given your attitude, I am guessing you would bend something really quick if you ever got out on a track. Waaay too much ego.

I called last week on a radical RXC 600R. Considering getting one. I have always had the dream of having an LMP type car. But I dont know if it is best left as a dream. Kind of like the line, "you never want to meet your heroes as you will be disappointed".

I dont know what I am going to do. But what I DO know is on the 25th, I will be on the track again, IN A REAL CAR with my son. Brining out the lotus and his first time on a track in a standard. ALL THE SIM TIME IN THE WORLD, will only get him somewhat ready. You gotta buckle in and feel the gears and linkage (something your sim does not model) You have worry about going into the tires as there is no reset button.

I cant tell if you are really this big a douche or if you think you are having fun. Bit of advice as I have met lots of successful people in my life. They dont have attitudes like yours. Good luck.

Cool, I have a 2013 Kia sorrento. One of my favorite cars I have EVERY owned. I have owned lots of different vehicles. I dont need to drive 'luxury' cars to feel good about myself. I like the kia and feel no need to replace it.

I also have a work truck that I bought in 06 I still have. That is not going any place either. I dont have a landscaper. It is me, my wife and kids. Below is a pic of one of our mulch runs. And we all got dirty spreading it. Its good to teach your kids to work hard.

Last but not least...here is a pic of my wife in the lambo.

j/k But actually looks a lot like my wife which is what caught my eye.

Yeah im not being a douche im just messing witchu man trolling u a lil bit. I also drive the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO a lot in iRacing which is a very smooth racing machine and one of the newest releases and advanced physics mods out there.

Just so you know for the first bolded part, that can be modded into any car. The squad has modding software that lets you plug in any base car and modify every element from engine swaps to modifying HP, Torque and anything you can dream of including simulated supercharching. AC is extremely moldable and unlimited for what it can do.

Throttle is also done like I said through transducers and you can have like 6 pucks going into a few specialized AMPs and individualy have telemetry going to all 4 tires in 4 corners, one for the engine revs and one for the pedals to also give other road feels from a long list of telemetry options and yeah, I feel real cars and its very similar you can drive just off throttle feel and don't even need the engine noise. Things like SimHub have come out that have unlimited rig mods available for any major sim. Gear shifts and linkage is all there built in to those apps you just have to switch them on, have the right sound card output and setup your amps and pucks on the rig. You can even feel the rumble strips on tracks when apexing.

I don't know if you have the V3 Fanatec pedals with the force feedback built in but that makes a huge difference. Even one buttkicker does but you can spend thousands just on that alone depends how deep you want to go down that rabbit hole.

And yeah the closer you get to tweaking every little thing the close it gets to the carry over. Direct Drive wheels, expensive pedals, VR and SimHub all come together to make it pretty damn real lol. But it has to be tuned right and thats a whole kinda of hobby in itself. Sim racing is like 80% tinkering with rigs and menus and 20% racing we jokingly say. Some people even hire people to set things like that up and it gets pretty expensive theres no limit to the ceiling.

A fully loaded motion rig at the highest end is probably more than you can afford and way more expensive than most super cars.

retail on this model is 150k+$

But honestly a fully loaded transducer setup with maybe a simple rear traction loss sliding type motion rig is the more realistic setup despite seeming more minimal the more over the top rigs are a distraction.

Stay in your lane man. Your playing video games and this man has the stones to throw is super cars around a track with what I’m assuming is limited insurance. Most companies won’t cover track use.

Also physics on video games does not equal physics in real life.

How would you know? Have you done research on the topic? Which sims did you do science experiments on and what were your control groups to come to this type of conclusion?

Oh wait you have no idea what you’re talking about do you…

Yep 100% accurate. No insurance coverage on track. You can buy 'track' policies from Hagerty, but they will only write up to 150k so it is kinda pointless. So you are hanging your butt out there a little. If you crash, you are eating the cost of the car.

A lot of my own friend thought I was a little nuts letting my 14 yo son drive. But I will tell you, we will NEVER forget that. If he bent something, then so be it, but the memories made that day were priceless.

That is actually my reason for buying the lotus. It is only worth 50-60 and A LOT less to risk out on the track. Plus, consumables like tires and brakes are A LOT cheaper. If you scuff a single rotor on the huracan, it will set you back $8,000 for one brake rotor. The lotus is cheap and we can go out and have fun, drive the car to the limit and just change the oil and put tires and brakes on it. I am guessing that the lotus will avg out to be about $1000 for each track event we do which is pretty cheap. That includes factoring in consumables, track inspections, fluid changes, etc.

Just realized that our event on the 25 is two days after school starts back in session. Had the talk with my wife about pulling him out of school for the day. I need him to keep up with his sh!t so we can continue to do fun stuff. This is his first year of highschool going into 9th grade. So I told him keep his stuff in order and we can play. If he does not, he might not be tracking for a while.....

I've never seen someone so triggered at another mans success to the point where you're actually trying to one-up him with the only card you have: Ghey videogame 'knowledge'. Top Gear proved over a decade ago that sims don't compare at all, to the real thing. Clarkson was unable to get close to his sim laptime around Laguna Seca because the forces experienced on the corkscrew triggered a natural instinct to slow down, something he could not overcome in the real car. In a sim you can fly around it as fast as you want because it's a VIDEO GAME. I bet you'd spin out the moment you tried to track anything RWD and 300+ bhp lmao
Negged, I await counter negs because you seem like a petty little jealous bish who would do that.

For the cars guys who have followed this post, it does not get better than this. I have seen my share of Countach's, but rarely get to roll with one.

This car is too cool! This was from this morning. I snuck in a bit of car time and then off to the soccer fields!

If you look closely enough you can see my Toyota Tacoma 3rd from the back. Doors out though. Didn’t wanna flex on everyone.
