I haven't had to use linkedin for a while - wtf even is this

I haven't logged into mine for 3 years. I don't remember what was like then, but now it's nothing but people posting even the most menial achievements.

No hate, but all I see are posts of people announcing every little thing they are doing like they are at some press conference. Attaching Gandhi quotes to accomplishing one module of a course they are taking.

Inserting a story of willpower and facing adversity as they post the certification that 10000000 people have.

Every time I log in I have people wanting to connect with me locally. Immediately after connecting with them I get spam sales messages about garbage that has nothing to do with me. Then I immediately unconnect. Rinse and repeat.

Sometimes I wonder if that crap actually works for anyone because it's seriously terrible.

Have a resume like profile and ignore everything. Recruiters use linkedin heavily and it makes a hige difference.
