Sounds like someone missed the boat on ADA and trying to make themselves feel better.

How do you miss a boat that hasn't even been built yet?

You miss it by dismissing what's been done and is currently soon to be released. Then double downing on ignorance by comparing it to Doge.

You're right you can't compare them. DOGE has a working product.

If you were to invest $1000 right now and the choice was Doge or Ada what would you invest in?

ADA by far. September 12th ADA will explode while DOGE is already played out.

Eh either or. They're both dependent on announcements for price movement.

Researching Defi projects is a daunting task. You end up wanting to get into everything. All YTers are biased so can't really base a decision on that only.

Do trust projects that have been audited and have their code up for public scrutiny. This is a must.
Don't let insanely high APYs blind you to potential issues
Do consider impermanent loss. Lots of Defi projects are tackling this issues with various solutions. In fact, I have sworn off high IL risks. Not worth it.
Don't buy into a project whose main rewards are its native token that is clearly a ****coin. You want high volume rewards that are easily redeemable for BTC/ETH/USD/Stable.

It gets dismissed because it's a project that hasn't delivered a product in 4 years and yet has remained in the top 10 MC. That's obscene and represents a negative aspect of cryptocurrency.

That makes sense for past sentiment but in the last year they've come a long way and by next month they will have a full POS smart contract platform.

Speaking of BTC in SATS would go a long way towards encouraging newcomers to buy it rather than make mistakes right off the bat. I passed on BTC in favor of ****coins in early 2017 because of the large price tag. That barrier obviously much larger now.

Memes aside, the only reason **** like XRP, Doge and ADA have stuck around and managed large MCs is because of low prices as a result of a comparatively limitless supply. Newbies just want those large round numbers.

If only a fork worked like a stock split...

Sifchain has some potential and is currently only a 16 million cap. It's a decentralized exchange that is about to get a major upgrade this week and cex listing soon after.

I don't understand the value of Layers 1 tokens like Solana, Cosmos and Polkadot. I have limited experience but it doesn't seem like gas is used on those platforms like it is on Ethereum. The value I see is in the non-Ethereum L1s are the projects building on top of them. Especially Cosmos. The defi stuff you can do on Cosmos is complex af but exciting as well. But that's attributable to the projects building on Cosmos.

What's the value in SOL? The only thing these Layer 1 tokens have value for, from what I've experienced, is as governance tokens. Unless you are fully vested in the technology and know what all the proposals are about...that **** is boring and no newbie is going to even begin to deep dive into that stuff.

holy sht gas fees! i just checked how much it would cost to perform a move on my defi stuff. $1300 gas fee and the action would concerning $200 worth of tokens.

yo wtf. on the flip side the ETH burn rate right now is astronomical. averaging 27 eth burned per minute over the past hour

yep. I've moved away from anything that relies on Ethereum network. There are defi projects that let you move tokens around on separate chains, avoiding paying ETH gas fees. Binance is pretty good at supporting them which allows you to stack BTC/ETH/USD/Stable from your defi profits without huge gas fees.
