Seems like intentional destabilisation of the Middle East tbh.

The terror organisation there are now strengthened after gaining US equipment, weapons. Similar thing happened after the US left Iraq I believe. ISIS found US equipment, weapons when they left which in turn kind of helped them invade neighbouring countries.

What is happening is what everyone who followed history knew what is going to happen, except if your name is George W. Bush or Dick Cheney. Afghanistan’s nickname is literally the “Graveyard of Empires”.

We trained a bunch of baked asf corrupt Afghan “soldiers” serving for a salary to take on hardcore jihadists who don’t give a fuk about life or death. What did you expect would happen? Afghan soldiers getting boners watching little boys dance while enjoying heroin while the Jihadists are sending in suicide bombers just to clear the path for their infantry like they will respawn or some ****.

China could do it though. They wouldn't care about bombing civs - good chance no one would know. No foreign press would be allowed, they wouldn't honestly report anything. They could use FAEs instead of nukes and still clear out a lot. They also have many more drones than we do and a shorter resupply route.

What if this was all a trap to kill a bunch of Taliban - bring them out of their hidey holes and make them think they've got it easy, and then once they're out in the open BOOM the hidden assassins all come out at once and wrek the Tallies like shooting turkeys all over the country.


That would be epic but the US government doesn't do anything epic anymore. Also it would require the mass cooperation and secrecy of the Afghan national army and that just aint happnin cuz.

USA lost 2,442 soldiers in Afghanistan. But yeah, this was never going to be a win. Can't change an ideology that has been embedded for over a thousand years. And the whole 'fight them there so they can't come here' line is bull**** since there have been thousands of refugees let in who will stay hardcore jihadists.

And no, dropping a nuke completely destroys the purpose behind conquering Afghanistan. People keep suggesting dropping nukes like this is a video game. Wtf is the point of holding on to A-Stan if it will be a radiation pit? Lol

There was a time when Afghanistan looked like this...















It's entirely possible for Afghanistan to once again become modern and get out the stone age...but only the Afghan people can decide when and how they want that to happen.

All those pics are from the 60’s and 70’s in Kabul. Kabul even until today is much more modern than the remainder of the state. Like all capitals in every country. The country outside Kabul always had traditional Afghan people who looked like the modern Taliban.

But i agree with you, let the Afghan people find their own way. Supposedly the Taliban-run cities thus far are nowhere as restrictive as they once were in the 90’s. Girls are allowed to go to school. Who knows, maybe the Taliban leadership did slightly change course on some things like they claim. I guess time will change things naturally.

What are they going to reverse engineer that they don't already have access to? I kind of agree with you on the 2nd part but if anybody can't be bought it might be the Taliban. They just want to be left alone to smash goats in peace.

I think our government knew this. They diverted an astronomical amount of tax dollars into the hands of defense contractors and private military contractors. That was the goal.

Why is everyone saying Biden did this? He's honoring a deal that Trump made.........


One of Donald Trump's campaign promises was to end the war in Afghanistan. Last year, he negotiated an agreement with the Taliban to withdraw all U.S. forces by May 1 of 2021. That's less than two months away. Not represented in that agreement were members of the Afghan government. They're now negotiating with the Taliban. Meanwhile, President Biden, having inherited the Trump deal, faces some tough choices.




FILKINS: The deal itself is simple, but it kind of sets off this cascade of other things which are not so simple. But the deal basically says the Taliban won't kill any Americans, and we won't attack the Taliban. And if all goes well and the Taliban agree not to support any kind of terrorism against the United States or not to allow terrorists in the country or any kind of bases, the United States will leave and go to zero and take out all of its forces by May 1.

And so at the present moment today, the U.S. has about 2,500 troops there, and then there's about 5,000 other NATO European troops who are there but who are kind of waiting on the U.S. to make a decision. So there's about 7,500 troops in the country right now.

GROSS: So NATO's decision isn't totally contingent on whether we pull out by May 1.

FILKINS: It's not, but they're all kind of watching. I think it's pretty fair to say that if the U.S. doesn't stay, then the Europeans aren't going to stay. And so I think whatever Biden decides effectively is going to decide the future of the Western effort in that country.
