Clown world isn't global

I'm currently visiting my wife's family overseas, in Japan. A country, keep in mind, that is very collectivist and doesn't particularly care for dissent in thought (though the government isn't in the business of regulating that, society and shame do). It's a different planet. No hysteria, no constant 24/7 news cycle about the world ending over one thing or another or about how the other team is destroying everything. No constant war on X or Y. No negativity permeating everything. No obsession with getting rich quick and similar concepts. No obsession with sjw nonsense about everything being oppression or conflict or privilege. No obsession with sex and gender (and yet less prudish than the us), no obsession with race (though there is almost no diversity of race here so I'll discount that one), no everything being political. No obsession with forcing others to submit to your political opinion at the threat of force. Just a completely different planet. You can actually be at ease for one ****ing day.

And it's the same elsewhere outside the anglo Saxon or west European world. Change your internet to another country outside of that world using a vpn and open YouTube or Twitter. Tell me what's trending? Funny videos, jokes, lighthearted content, tv shows, tutorials etc. Now turn it off and do the same. Politics, people getting slammed, debunking, fact checking, critical x theory, privilege, Trump, oppression, social media whores and influencers, gender **** everywhere, etc etc etc

The US is trapped in its own insanity.

eh... everything is commodified in Japan, it's hyperconsumerist/capitalist. It's why everyone there is depressed and their birth rates have plummeted.

I felt the same way as you when I went to Costa Rica for a weeks, I also felt the same way when went to Chicago for a week and Cancun for a week.

That’s because I WAS ON VACATION. The clown world always disappears when you’re on vacation, that’s just how life is.

I’ve never been to Japan, it’s on the bucket list and seems awesome. But they also have crazy high suicide rates, crazy high amount of single women and men that are either virgins or have never been in a relationship, some well into their 40s.

So let’s not act like they know what’s up.

Everything about this post is wrong excepting that it's a consumerist society.

Good luck multiculturalizing a place where to read and write you need to learn how to use 3000 Chinese characters. Good luck doing so in a place where people would gladly spit on your corpse for being a foreigner.

Come back and talk to me when old ass houses in Japan cost 1 to 2 million dollars and appreciate over time instead of depreciate as should any other physical product.

Do you get all your info from CNN and the BBC? The whole suicide and everyone is depressed virgins is nothing but media nonsense. It's not the reality here. Suicide rates are higher in most other countries, and people here bang like no tomorrow. Just because BBC pumps out a wacky Japan story every fuking week doesn't make their propaganda true.

I'm also not on vacation, I'm visiting family. I've already lives in Japan in the past. It's just that with us so far gone the difference between the two has just jumped out to me this time more than before. Seriously considering with my wife getting out of the us permanently.

I dont think Japan is a good representation of non clown world. There are panty vending machines, guys/girls paying for cuddling, people are not getting married/having sex so much so that they are literally losing population numbers.

They live in super small apartments working 20 hours a day and suicide numbers arre extremely high. Guys literally have gf's that are AI on little keychains...i could go on and on but i think this is enough
