Trump is the one who negotiated the deal with the Taliban about taking the troops out, and Biden was the one carrying it out. Trump actually wanted them out much earlier by May 1st, whereas Biden wanted everyone out by 9/11.

Regardless of whoever the president was, whether it be Trump, Biden, or whoever is next, it was NEVER going to work out the way we wanted. The Taliban has about 200k soldiers, and the Afghan Army has like 186k. We just spent a ton of money training them and providing equipment for them for the last 2 decades, and when the time came to protect themselves they just stopped and walked away. They had drones, vehicles, helicopters, this and that, and they still didn't use it because they didn't even care. So although the situation is terribly tragic, it didn't work and we shouldn't still be there.

Afghan and all those middle eastern countries are not like Europe or the US. There is no "government" like we have here. They have tribes of people and ideologies that come in and out of power. They've been fighting for a millennia, and we thought we were going to just fix that with some drone strikes and all out war? Obviously looks like a bad beat for Biden, but he put it pretty well. We were there to do justice, and not to rebuild them. We did way more than we should and in the end it didn't work out, so we were better off just leaving.

You think about the US and how we are fighting over oppression over pronouns, sexual orientations, and race. Then you look over in Afghanistan and they'd rather try to hold onto the outside of an airplane to get out, rather than live under Taliban rule. Really puts it into perspective how stupid the things we fight over here in America.

"Because the thing about repairing, maintaining, and cleaning is it’s not an adventure. There’s no way to do it so wrong you might die. It’s just work. And the bottom line is, some people are okay going to work, and some people … well, some people would rather die. Each of us gets to choose.”

If you're insinuating that what is happening right now is inevitable then you don't know WTF is going on in Afghanistan right now.

In the prior few months, numerous Biden admin officials were telling us (and the Afghans, and the world) repeatedly this would work out differently and that this would not happen.

People who trusted and allied with the US are being hunted down and murdered in Afghanistan.

Many Westerners have are being put in vastly unneeded jeopardy.

The US is effectively being 'chased' out of Afghanistan by the Taliban that they've spent 20 years trying to defeat.

Billions of $$ of weaponry and material are left and now in the hands of our supposed enemy.

The world is being taught to never ever trust the US.

The US looks like a goddamn fool on the world's stage.

I'm not a Trump supporter but this absolute disastrous fiasco that has harmed the US immensely on the world's stage didn't happen last year or last month.

It happened this month and falls squarely on the shoulders of Biden, Milley, and Austin.

All three must go.
