Misc Vax Experts Enter Here.

So employer bullying tactics are being stepped up to the point I might need to get the jab soon to keep my position (RIP & LOL @ Me). I don't give a single solitary fukk about which one "works" better. All I care about is which one is least likely to fukk me up, short or long term. Will rape tenderly for legit advice...

Ameribrah so it has to be available/accepted here.

I had two doses of the Pfizer vaccine

First one was fine. Second one had me feeling like I had the flu for about 8 hours the evening after. Annoying but not bad

I hadn't had Covid before despite being heavily exposed to it through my wife

Have you tried having a discussion with your employer about other options?
What is your company size?
What is your field?
What kind of push have they made?
How long have you been working there?
Are you irreplaceable?

Please give us guys who are potentially in your shoes soon an idea of whats to come.

Is there any way you can get the Sputnik V vaccine?

If I had to get the vax, I would choose that one.

It is not mRNA.

Not an expert, but I would say the J and J.

It’s only one dose, and it uses traditional vaccine technology. The other two are the new style mRNA vaccines

My wife was talking to a nurse about it and she (the nurse) got the J&J and was going to take 81mg aspirin daily for 3 months because of the potential for blood clot issues from the shot.

I work in a government facility, everyone in the facility will be required to show proof of vax or <72 hour negative covid test before entering starting next week. Government employees and contractors alike. I plan to do the tests for now but it's only a matter of time before the vax becomes officially mandatory I'm sure.

99% of people getting vaccinated are just fine just like 99% of people who get Covid are just fine.

I’m anti mandatory vax but took my first dose of Pfizer yesterday and feel fine. Decided to get it because I know tons of people who have gotten it by now and seems safe. Work is not making me. People I trust more than miscers say it’s safe.

Yea I have very mixed feelings about getting it still. Don’t think I needed it but didn’t think there was any harm in getting it either. I made my choice but respect other people’s choice to not get it as well. Almost feel like I betrayed my principles but oh well.

What pushed me to getting it was I compared the people I knew who had gotten vs the people who were against it and my dumbest friends & family were the anti vaxxers and they never had good reasons other than they just didn’t want to or didn’t want anyone telling them what to do lol.

What do you mean by "safe"? You can argue that it is safer than getting covid (depending on your age and health conditions) but to say that there are not associated risks with getting a rushed out vaccine is a flat out lie.

If it was completely safe they wouldn't be immune from lawsuits from injuries/deaths caused by the vaccine.

Novavax, when it comes out, will be another ( recombinant protein instead of deactivated virus like the Chinese ones ).

Sputnik V is viral vector as well, like AstraZeneca or Janssen.

Out of the 11 vaccines with WHO approval, 2 are mRNA, 4 are viral vector, and the rest are deactivated virus type ( pretty much all Chinese ).
So in the event that you personally HAD to choose one of the common vaccines widely available in the U.S. (gun to head), which one would you choose?

I'm curious because while I do not plan on getting the vaccine, if I had my back against the wall like OP I might consider getting it, unfortunately (ded fkn Srs)

Name a FDA approved vaccine or drug that is completely safe for everyone under all circumstances

That's the standard you all have for this vaccine.

Follow the advice of our brilliant, sage miscers and quit your job, live in the street, and continue preaching about 'muh freedoms' while waving your flag around and pounding down a couple of bud lights for good measure

In all honestly, however, I know many people who have gotten the Pfizer vaccine and were fine (all working in the healthcare field so it was an ethical decision on their part). I know at least 1 person who experienced short-term flu-like side effects from the Astrazeneca or whatever it's called.

You'll be fine, OP. Don't let misc pseudo-virologists' fear-mongering nonsense get to you in the slightest.

My vote also. Same med technology as a tuberculosis vax. Any media freakout about it was completely overblown. ~1 in 500K chance of a rare, serious blood clot....if you're a woman that's on or has taken birth control relatively recently. Meanwhile the mRNA cause less serious blood clots far more commonly.

I am doing my homework for if/when it becomes mandatory so at that point I know what my least worst options are. Mandatory vax is the next logical step if the 72 hour testing protocol doesn't bring enough of us to heel to satisfy those in control. If doing what I have to do to keep a roof over my baby's head and food on the table is "caving" then so be it.
