China power moves while you fight over whose idea it was to pull out of Afghanistan
Sick and tired of seeing threads about whose idea it was to pull out of Afghanistan first and who’s the better president. Afghanistan is sitting on the largest lithium deposits. China had been meeting with Taliban leaders weeks leading up to this mess. While America continues to push fear porn and make us panic about global warming, China setting up shop to be the largest provider of lithium. America probably armed afgans regardless of their terrorist backgrounds in the hopes they will fight back against China if they try to come in and take advantage of their assets.

Difference is that China will not spend trillions and countless lives of soldiers, and local citizens just to buy something they can get for peanuts.
What will happen is that they'll build a road to expand their belt and road stratagem, further isolating india.
Then, they'll offer to build a mine, which the Taliban will own the land of, and receive royalties.
Then, they'll debt trap them by building airports, bridges, roads, schools and mosques
The Taliban will default on the massive loans (extremely cheap by China standards), which China will extremely generously forgive in exchange for a few mines, worth a fraction of the debt. The local Taliban leaders will also have generous compensation packages on the boards of these companies. Wins all round.
The whole thing will earn China trillions, instead of costing trillions. Plus they can export Chinese men all over to take local brides, easing job and marriage shortages in China.
Every single strategic achievement complete for China. Gets their resources without the liability of an unstable populace. Isolate india. Expand their belt and road network. Instead of costing them trillions, its bringing in trillions of revenue, and actually subsidising the Chinese economy. A great moral victory too - to the Chinese, they're going to the barbarian lands to improve their lives, they built stuff for them, and forgave them when they couldn't pay, and no matter what you say about debt trap, its a trillion times better than what the west did to Africa and Afghanistan. Plus, they don't get any guilt, loss of political power, or morality issues with this. Its a royal flush for them.
Meanwhile, the west all condemns the Taliban, refuses to acknowledge their sovereignty, doesn't do business with them, and pushes them into China's welcoming arms. We all know what happens when you're a small time supplier, and your only buyer is massive and powerful. Brain the size of a pea.

It is a very interesting story OP and should be discussed, but so should the thousands of American citizens that are still stuck in Afghanistan.
This pull out was awful. We had 20 years and this is how we did it?

Well that sounds shockingly familiar. That's what the US has been doing for decades. Yet another thing China stole from us.

At this point, people should be asking where it went wrong - was it the competency of the military? were politicians corrupt and more interested in scoring political goals? was the invasion justified in the first place? should America's "world police" policy be reviewed? What should the scope of the invasion be? Should control of strategic resource and location be done in a different way?
Afghanistan should be an extremely powerful way to counteract China's ambitions, limiting their belt and road, and natural resources, but now, its turbo-charging their ambitions exponentially. We literally pulled out our ace, gave it to China to create a royal flush, then cried about it. There is no higher power of retardation than that.
The next one to fall with be Iraq, mark my words. China will then be able to finish their belt and road nicely through Pakistan (boycotted by the west), Afghanistan (boycotted by western powers), Iran (boycotted too) and Iraq, to whom China will be their only friend, to finally reach Europe, and render India and America's power in that region completely neutered. China can completely ignore US when that happens.

The point is it is looking like by going off script from the negotiated plan because of petty politics (staying past May) Biden pissed off the Taliban and caused it to cascade from there. This is a big part of why ANA fell so quickly.
Simultaneously, we essentially pulled out from Bagram Airbase overnight and left thousands of American citizens to find a way out of Afghanistan. We are now forced into defending an airfield completely surrounded in the middle of a city when we could have used the airbase that was secure and not in the middle of a freaking city to evacuate all these people. It goes back to a basic question of why did the military leave first and citizens last?

And just to poke holes in your theory for the sake of argument let's say China was forcing Biden's handlers. That would mean there was some heads up given in back rooms and that Biden would have still have had the knowledge ahead of time to give the evacuation notice. It doesn't add up IMO.

It's not a Trump or Biden thing at all, Biden did it even worse, but no one did it in a manner that was competent or sane.
Look up Afghan ring road. That was on Bush, Obama and Trump, yet all 3 of them did sweet FA. If they completed that ring road, they would have wiped out the Taliban, or at least, make response to any insurgents exponentially faster. The road was sponsored by everyone from Japan to NATO, and the US was the ONLY partner not to finish their portion, despite having only an extremely small portion. Even partners who had no presence in Afghanistan finished their portions. Its fukking disgraceful.
Now China has a royal flush, and the moral high ground when Afghanistan should have been a massive thorn in their side.
Considering the way US operates and its culture, it shouldn't get into these sorts of occupational wars, everything is wrong, from the casus belli, to the way they occupied it. I don't know what's right for them, but what they're doing now is the exact opposite of what they should do.

It is my guess that America is hoping that China does invade A-Stan so they can pull the 1980’s trick on them… arm the Mujahideen with cray weaponry and watch them collapse.
China is smart tho. They know the Taliban want legitimacy and they are rushing in to give it to them while the West already looks to isolate them. Taliban will also build relations with Russia, it seems.
What China cannot take militarily, they do so diplomatically. Something I wish we did.

Not to mention, China gives zero fuks about anything, anyone, laws, decency, etc. Whatever it takes to get things done, even if it means glassing your own people, no doubt.Hence why I believe America left the Taliban with our aircraft and weapons. Providing them the tools needed if China went from peaceful to aggressive as soon as we left
Edit:
Kburn is Chinese and has been shilling pro-chinese posts for some time. Take it with a grain of salt

Do you not think this pull out was bad? Do you not have any problems with how it was handled? I ask these questions because, again, I didn't see an actual argument.

If you read about the China-India rivalry, you'll realise its over the road that heads to Europe. China needs that road, but India is angry, as that means ships will bypass India and go via the road instead. Also, China has bought a port in Sri Lanka to further bypass and isolate India. This will pretty much strangle India's growth and permanently consign them to the toilet bowl of history (kek), hence the anger. After US, India is their next biggest rival due to number of people, but whether it be superpower 2020 or 3020, someday, they have a chance of rivalling China. This is called future planning.
The rest is all normal daily news articles on how they're managing Afghanistan. I mean, everyone could see it from the Vietnam war, this has been a mirror, from the initial invasion, to the way ANA/ARVN is, to the fall, and now to the mass refugees it has created.
On the China side, just think long term of what you want to do. You don't have presidents trying to rape each other every 4 or 8 years, so they can plan decades in advance. What is the best move in Afghanistan if you were planning 20 years in advance. Invade them in a spectacular show of showmanship to ensure your second term, or foster ties, buy their resources for cheap and let them clean their own chit.
I'd still much rather live in a democracy, but the US needs to play to its strengths, not fuk around with wars and chit. Hasn't worked since Korea, they need to try something that works with the system, democracy, 4 year terms, corrupt capitalist politicians and all. The US is far too polarised with dumb talking heads as presidents. A lot of your disunity is largely self-driven, both on the left and right.
