I was wrong, Anachron was right

Well boyos. Pains me to do it but its gotta be done. Took some time away from the misc, have alot going on IRL and just doesn't make sense spending time on an internet forum anymore.

However, I often think of the early covid thread days. I was SHOOK by the concept. To this day I wonder what intelligence agency was hyping things up. Pictures and videos of people dropping dead from "neurological impacts".

BRB looking up the energy required to cremate a body because of the CO levels in the WUHAN area and trying to calculate the physics involved of that many people dying...

At one point, I found some model that predicted deaths if we couldn't help everyone, I.e. the hospitals were too full, so people died "needlessly". Something like 5 to 25 million dead in the first YEAR. Anachron called me out hardcore, and I was convinced he was trolling me. I mean, yes, he was for SURE trolling me. But the dude was right.

I was buying rice, beans, bleach, guns and ammo, preparing for the worst. I spent DAYS arguing with people on here, PLEADING to wear a mask. Literally messaging admin trying to get Pogue removed as a mod. I went to work in a full face 3M6000 series respirator, just before the lockdowns started.


Ho Lee Chit. I was so wrong. Mea Culpa. Or whatever that phrase is. Stay safe out there boyos, and by stay safe I mean wear a condom. STD's aren't fun.

Yeah that's really all I'd wish for the world right now. Critical thinking and being open to having been wrong, and being wrong, and being wrong in the future. It's not an identity crisis to be wrong. It's human. Maybe we are gunna make it?

Think I made 1-2 jokes about the wuflu when people were starting to panic in Dec 2020. I became a full paniccel in Jan/Feb 2020. Converted 401K to treasuries right before the big crash in March. Started to realize it might be BS and then once the BLM marches started had realized it was almost entirely BS.

Good times. Most people only ever had 1 opinion on it and are still stuck in the paniccel mode.

OP I member you well - in the early days of COVID and big threads you were there every day.

It takes a genuinely good and trustworthy man to admit he was wrong and do so openly.

I was with you on the masks and against Pogue about it also. I still support masks somewhat as they do work in a limited manner to reduce droplet outflow although I'm not for any legal mandates, but I'm learning about and trying to call out a lot of the other BS.
