I got to thinking, if a technology existed that could take you 80,000 feet in a mere second, imagine what kind of damage you could do with that.

You could easily transport illegal contraband across national borders without getting caught. Another nation could launch nukes at you from within their border in mere seconds. Fugitives would never be caught and could easily escape capture. No place would be off limits for humanity on this earth…even protected sites. To sum it up, the world would dissolve in to chaos with that kind of technology UNLESS there were counter measures to stop it.

That’s where I think we’re at. We’re experimenting with technology and don’t fully understand all its limitations yet and haven’t developed countermeasures to stop it if it feel into an enemy’s hands. Imagine North Korea, Russia, or China with this kind of tech. Imagine cartels having access to this tech.

A few decades tops sure, or tech that like say radar stealth tech that doesnt really have commercial applications, sure. But entirely knew energy sources and new propulsion systems that are not just an extension of existing turbine jets but so new that not even physics can explain them, nope.
