Jake Paul -200 v Tyron Woodley 8/29 8:00pm PST

Who do you got here and why

I'm leaning Jake Paul because I think this is likely another manufactured fight/win for Paul brothers. Tyron is no more than the washed up sacrificial lamb being thrown a paycheck to take the fall Sunday.

Jake Paul is listed at 6'1' 200+ while Tyron is 5'9' 170 UFC fighter.

Thoughts?

Agree. Having a paul brother "lose" this early in their 'career' would mean lot of less money for people.

Wanna see that pretty boy ****gotcatch a beatdown, but I think OP is right-- the fix is in. Paul brothers and their collaborators are probably making beaucoup bux on the backend betting on the results of their fake fights too, which rustles me even more.

Jake is 5'11 without the e stats. Woodley is 5'8. I think Jake takes it. Woodley will come to fight tho, but it won't be enough.

It's rigged so of course Jake Paul will win. Woodley doesn't have a future but Jake Paul does and he can't afford to lose this early into his career.

Crazy to think that Jake Paul would literally beat any miscer in a fight

Paul's beating up MMA has-beens in boxing who are all smaller than him. Why doesn't he call out Israel Adesanya? They're roughly the same size, Paul probably weighs a little more.

Askren went in for a payday and was the worst striker in the UFC's history. Woodley will be a better test but has lost all of the last 125 minutes he's fought except for one round I think in the last fight he got KOed

I'm sure there's a few miscers his size/bigger who could fuk Paul up in boxing srs. He's never even boxed a legit amateur boxer, let alone a professional. Yet he's a "3-0 undefeated pro boxer" lmao

For real dude just beats up on some manlets, and even then it needs to be some fixed exhibition match.

Woodley asked for this fight. Don't be mad when jake steps in the ring and does what Urban Woodley asked for. Everyone that keeps wanting him to prove himself is like when you apologize to a group of liberals. it will never be enough and they'll keep coming at you.

Exactly, Woodley has more muscle mass and less fat despite being 2-3 inches shorter (Jake isn’t close to 6’1, he’s 5’11 tops). Technically Woodley is the bigger guy, he’s also more explosive. His boxing wasn’t bad, anybody that says otherwise doesn’t know MMA. He knocked out Robbie Lawler, he dropped Darren Till, and he dropped Wonderboy. All three of those guys are regarded as good MMA strikers.

Woodley also knocked out Jay Hieron and Josh Koscheck. He packs power, is explosive, and he certainly has more than a right hand although that’s his best punch. He’s also very experienced, he’s been in there with the best fighters in the WW division including Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman.

I will be rooting for Jake Paul, but nothing I’ve seen from him makes me believe he would beat Woodley. Knocking Askren out isn’t an impressive feat, the basketball player he fought could barely throw a punch. So where is the evidence that Jake is a better boxer than Woodley? I haven’t seen any. It’s possible Jake is actually a much better boxer than he’s been able to show, if that is the case then he can definitely win, especially considering Woodley’s age. Some of Jake’s sparring footage looks good but sparring is sparring.

Lets hope you're right boyo. Woodley's eaten a lot more punches and kicks than Jake Paul so hopefully that'll mean something

Ben Askren beat Robbie Lawler with a choke, Woodley starched Lawler with a punch. That’s a massive difference and Woodley has shown decent striking ability many times, Askren never did. That doesn’t mean Woodley will win, but comparing this to Askren is insane.

Woodley isn’t in his prime anymore, but his last for loses were to Covington and Usman, probably the 2nd and 3rd best WWs in history besides GSP, Gilbert Burns who’s a top 5 WW currently and just fought for a title, and Vicente Luque who’s another top 5 WW currently. He’s not losing to guys outside the top 10.

Idk Woodley's striking primarily relied on his takedown threats. A lot of his strategy was backing up to the cage, then either blast double-legging or throwing an overhand right. There's so many more threats in MMA which allowed his hands to get mixed in. Leg kick threats make it stupid to get in a traditional boxing stance, head kicks mitigate shoulder rolling on punches, etc

As a pure boxer, he's not very good. We've never seen him put a boxing clinic on anybody I don't think

Boxers even say McGregor's not that good of a boxer despite him being one of the best boxers in MMA.

It's apples and oranges, boxing in mma vs boxing

Woodley was more like a wrestler with knockout power

Askren's boxing isn't anywhere close to Woodley. Now Woodley hasn't looked normal in years, so no idea what will happen. But fukin LOL at compairing Askren and Woodley.

That’s true, a lot of his strikes were landed because people were worried about getting taken down. But the point is he has displayed power, explosiveness, the ability to close distance very quickly, and he has shown decent boxing. I don’t think anybody would consider him a great boxer, he was a decent MMA striker. Even his leg kicks were very powerful, he stopped Carlos Condit with leg kicks.

He’s a great athlete, it’s kinda like what Masvidal said, Jake Paul is a good athlete but Woodley is a different level of athlete.

In other words Jake Paul is like the best athlete at your local high school, but Woodley is the type of guy that if he wanted to be an NFL running back and that is what he put his time into training to do from the time he was young, he could have done that. He’s a world class athlete, in order to compete at the level of wrestling he did he had to be. While Jake Paul is a very good athlete. However Jake does have punching power and he’s shown to be a fast leaner, to be that good at boxing in 3.5 years, is very impressive, he seems to have a natural talent for boxing. I am actually a big fan of Jake Paul, I hope he does big things in the sport.
