how to pass a job intreview? (srs) (reps)
so in a few days i got a really big intreview. im a cs student, finishing next summer.
i looked for a student position for the last few months and barely got any calls back. but theres this small company that are looking for a student. the title is "code analyst."
had a short phone intreview and a 4 hours home task, i passed both and now i got an intreview with some manager there. its in a few days and in zoom.
from what they described - it can be a really good job for me.
1.first of all finally a fuking student position. that can really help me in the CV after i finish school.
2.very good money (if i dont get a job soon in the field ill go to work in some factory or something cuz i will have to, and for minimum wage. they offered around twice that.)
3.the position is fully from home for the near future.
so obviously i really want to get it.
its my first serious intreview. also it will be in zoom which bother me a bit.
any tips?
if i get the job i will buy this (basic) to the choice of the miscer with the best advice SRShttps://www.fiverr.com/suzonmolla95/...ee2537e1fe8e3a

Do you know anything about the interview? Is it just a behavioral interview?
Since you haven't mentioned it, one thing to prepare regardless of interview type is what you like about the company. It's a common enough question that you should have a good answer to (beyond the position is remote/has good pay and is for a student).

1. have a list of 5-10 sincere good open-ended questions to ask.
2. take sincere notes throughout the interview.
3. prepare, prepare, prepare. don't wing it!
4. do your research on the organization and throw out facts you know via questions.
5. dress professionally - above the job. be groomed and professional. zoom background too.
6. anticipate the questions you'll be asked and have good answers ready.

For behavioral questions use the STARL method. State the SITUATION of a problem. State the TASK at hand. State your ACTION. Then the RESULT. You can add on an “L” for what you LEARNED.
behavioral questions are popular because they hold the belief that your past behavior is indicative of your future behavior.
Example: I had a situation where a coworker was bullying me. The Task was for us to get along and finish the work. My Action was to be patient and explain calmly what he was doing is not productive. The Result was that we got along afterwards. What I Learned was that patience and calm explanation can help with interpersonal problems.
Obviously the above example is extremely simple and you will give a more in-depth and complex problem to explain.
But you get the gist.
Have 3-4 complex examples you can rattle off if they ask for different examples.

Have some your answers to outside of class hobbies as well in case they take the interview in that direction. Smaller companies are prob more likely to do that. Larger companies prob have an HR rep and have a list that they ask everyone the same question so nobody can sue them over alleged EEO violations.
larger companies you can find some of their interview styles on glass door. smaller companies be prepared for STAR style or the manager winging it and asking whatever
Also since you are a student without professional work history in the field, start thinking of examples of whatever outside of pure classwork experience you have. If you are in the university computer nerd club doing things there. If you arent atleast remember the more complex projects you had for school and talk them up. Go refresh/review them so you can talk more in detail if needed.
If you not as familiar with the code languages they want for this job then brush up a bit on those but dont spend all your time on that because you need to be polished, so you need time for the above as well.

When they ask if you have any questions, ask how they would rate the female interns on a scale of 1-10 and what is the fraternization policy

Just show[color=#009966]what you are[color],[color=#ff0000]not what you are not[color].
I have interviewed hundreds of job applicants as a division chief in my previous company for over 35 years and what we are looking for is always one of three.
⭐Honesty, ⭐Confidence, or⭐Determination.
We can easily tell aPretenderwith Borrowed, Fake, Hastily Acquired or On the Surface Knowledge.
The truly serious question is:
Do You Want to Work for a Company with human resources persons who couldn't see through your deception?
Such a company won't last long.
It's up to you brother, always, becauseyou are the boss of your own life.
And just show them that.
Good luck.

be on time, wear a suit/tie, ask them important questions to show you've done your research on how companies in that field operate, show that you are motivated in your answers, and not just another worker drone looking for a paycheck

Might be too late for this one but in the future you might like to try 1g of phenibut 1hour-45mins prior to the interview, from my own personal experience it makes me speak much better and can think spontaneously/improvise well
Otherwise you could ask a doctor to prescibe some propranolol if you get serious stage fright or youre extremely nervous/stressed (high bpm, sweating, shakes)
Obviously eating supplements won't mean jack sht if you havent prepared a range of STAR examples, research on the company, research into industry trends etc like other miscers have pointed out above
Edit: if its an in person interview and not an online post-covid interview then make sure you shake their hands firmly, no limp fish or squeezing too hard. Memorise and use the interviewers names when speaking to them or when wrapping up e.g 'thank you for your time scooby' 'thank you for your consideration jeff'
all comes with practice and experience

A few years ago I changed my tactic and realised loyalty tends to get you nowhere with companies these days, so I've been through three jobs and start my fourth in two weeks since July 2018.
They've all been in the Defence field - which is what I have a background in.
I have found that if I can drop a piece of information about the company/role/team I'm interviewing for in the general back and fourth at the beginning of the interview - the interviewers don't even bother asking me any further questions about what do I know.
I have the same three questions I ask the interviewer at the end of every interview:
1) is this a new position or has someone recently left? If the latter, how come the position has been made available?
2) is there anything I potentially have not clearly articulated or covered off you would like a further explanation on?
3) (asking the person who will be my direct reporting line) having discussed my experience and skills, is there anything that causes you to believe I wouldn't be suitable for the role?
Of course your experience may vary with those questions depending on how your interview goes. As I have relevant experience in my industry I have been very confident and can articulate myself well in the interviews to the point where in each of the recent four job (and this most recent one had three separate interviews) interviews, the interview has always ended with question 3 and the hiring manager leaving the interview with the lasting memory that there is nothing they can think of that makes me unsuitable for the role.
EDIT: Do NOT put a background on your zoom interview. You will look incredibly unprofessional when you make the slightest movement and it hammers home the fact how gimmicky the background is. Just ensure your background is clutter free - I've moved my computer to the dining table upstairs to ensure the background is a blank wall.
