I love that Trumpers still see Trump as infallible and believe there was some great plan.

The Taliban were ignoring the supposed "cease-fire agreement" during and after it was negotiated. For example, it was the claimed reason he canceled the invitation to the Taliban to Camp David on the anniversary of 9/11.

Instances like this are something I've always thought must be "the worst" way to lose a loved one - as if there could ever be a good one; as things are winding down or even post-war in garrison duty somewhere. For instance WW2; imagine being a British soldier who lived through the conflict, get stationed in Palestine and then get blown up by Zionist terrorists. Or really any soldier who survived that war and was then caught up in the many smaller regional conflicts thereafter. Reminds me of the TV show Band of Brothers which was about an American airborne company, based on history, and one American soldier dies after Germany had surrendered to the Allies when he's driving down a road, barrel falls off a truck coming the other way and it causes a crash.


To lose a son/father/brother/friend must be one thing, but for them to die in such an offhanded manner, almost...christ. Can't imagine the rage.

Biden definitely ****ed up but I'm genuinely curious,

1. What number of deaths is acceptable?
2. What would you have done to end this war?

It's sad this guy and 12 others died but I haven't seen anyone say what would be a better strategy for getting out of Afghanistan. The only thing I've seen is people saying "x plan was better" but I've never actually seen any of the details. Personally I think he should have evacuated US citizens and Afghan interpreters months ago and stopped US citizens travelling there, but as far as getting the soldiers out, what's the solution? Fortify an evacuation site and shoot anyone who gets close (ie the afghan citizens trying to flee the taliban)? Preemptively attack the advancing taliban who then in retaliation start attacking your evacuating troops and targeting your planes? What's the solution?
