before you started carrying your gun...
for the folks that carry (open or concealed) did you ever have any incidents where you would have used it? not shot it but as a leverage tool.
i can think of one where it would have been beneficial and never damaged my car (got blocked in by someone, had to drive over a sidewalk and scratched my underside on the curb). no major damage but if i had a gun dude would have likely ran if confronted.
twice in the last twenty years have i drawn my gun and both times would be assailants didn't say a word, just ran without saying one word. thankfully have never had to shoot anyone.

I don't think it's a good idea to use your firearm has a tool of intimidation. If you're gonna draw it you better use it.

The answer to this question should unanimously be "no" unless you just barely managed to survive a grievous assault by sheer luck.

if your vehicle is boxed in and someone walks up to your window you don't stop and ask what they're going to do next.

sounds like everyone else here feels obligated to fire if they draw. this isn't the old west, there are legal liabilities.

gun comes up if they make sudden moves or they reach for the pockets (situational and your call)

What you described sounds like it would be brandishing a firearm which I think might be a felony. So unless you have a really good lawyer, or you can do it in a way where there won't be any evidence (no cameras around, no other witnesses, etc.) then it's probably not a good idea. Additionally, if the other guy actually does have a gun, he might be justified in using it in self-defense against you. So it's a risk.

Had two drunk guys pull guns on myself and my friends as we were grilling outside my buddies apartment. Totally unprovoked too, I mean we didn’t say a word to these guys as they stumbled up.
We fell back into the apartment and one jumped the patio railing and hit the sliding glass door a few times before they took off in their truck and fired into the air a few times. They stayed in the apartment complex until the police came and arrested them.
We probably would have been justified in shooting them but obviously it ended without violence so in a weird way I’m almost glad I didn’t carry back then.
That’s about it though. I carry every single day whenever legally possible.
