I have done DoorDash, and I do not have the most favourable of memories from the experience.

I live in Seattle, and traffic here can be pretty awful, especially during peak hours. One of my least favourite things in the world is driving. I feel like I spend too much time trying to go a short distance. And parking is just as awful when I reach the destination. I can't tell you how many times I've had to park the car away from the restaurant or home to complete this. And when I see the pay at the end, it doesn't feel like much. Nearly everyone lives in an apartment (which I can't see accepting the delivery), and this definitely slows efficiency with all this goddamn security (which I seldom find out about until I've arrived). Some of the clients don't tip at all - I once got only $8 for a delivery after a 9 mile drive. Can't understand how some people do this for a living.

I can think of better ways to spend my weekend. Like working my regular job and staying in ONE place to make about the same amount.

I saw a guy in Brooklyn doing this with a tricked out electric scooter that could go 40+mph while he wore a full body protection suit. Looked pretty alpha, and in that sense where the only maintenance is charging the scooter, I can see that being pretty profitable.

I order Doordash at least 1x/day. I can tell you I rarely tip much, but this ****ing person got me to give them a fat tip the other day. They included a little mini ziplock bag w/ candies and a note.

Here it is:

It had my name at the top. So I'm sure they just pre-write notes, and then write your name at the top. Because it was doordash not ubereats and note says ubereats. But imagine takes very very little time to do this and I gave her a $7 tip. Just for going the extra mile you know? More than those cocksuckers who throw my food down at the door and walk off and its fkn all spilled and ****.

Imagine getting a miscer as a client and they leave 0. Lol

I tip well when i use these apps. I look at the actual driving and delivering as a separate service. So paying someone 10 bucks to drive my meal to me isnt that bad

I delivered for a mom and pop shop when i was like 19. I dont think i ever didnt get a tip; one time a black couple gave me a quarter though. Im being serious.. i dont think i ever got 0

I would say 95% of the tips were 5 bucks though. If i remember right we tried to deliver within a 5 mile radius but i bet it was smaller looking back

I dont think i ever got larger than a 20 as well

Yeah I definitely would not do it if that was the setup. I don't even do it here if theres traffic, and this is a low traffic zone, let alone in a truly trafficked area. Parking is never an issue. You don't want it too be too busy, but also not such a small town that theres no orders.

The apps have little "hot zones" on the map that tell you how many deliveries trend in a hub area. There are probably smaller or upper class hubs you can try to test out in the surrounding Seattle areas. Hopefully close to your home.

That would actually make no sense. What ifs hot, or cold? what if you have a big order, or two orders?

No YouTube access, cant sit and chill in cabin of car when you want to.

I think you guys are over-estimating the length of the trips total. They are meant to be short and one after the other. Each order is at least 10$ sometimes up to 20$ but youre only using like 5 min worth of gas. The trips arent and shouldn't be that long. If I make 300$ in one day who cares if I have to buy tires once every couple years if they cost like 300$ lol. Who cares if I need oil changes if every 1-2 delivery is enough for an oil change?

Its nowhere near as inefficient as you guys make it out to be. You kinda have to try it yourself. Sometimes the restaurant and delivery is just down the street. You guys are projecting an inneficiency that isn't really there.

Yeah its actually a really good form of the multiple source of income principle. Even well-off people see it as what it is: a casual no strings attached source of income that can be stacked with anything else.

This + stocks is probably the easiest most realistic path to having a strong portfolio. I can spend all my stock market hours doing whatever and casually stroll around in the evening funding more stocks to buy. Great combo. its only a matter of time.

Even my rich friends half joked about wanting to do it too on the low low and asked me how to set it up srs lol

What the **** is wrong with you guys, seriously? OP is happy making money and it shouldn't matter how much it is he's clearly happy doing this and it fits his personality type..leave it to the misc to try to make him feel like ****

It doesn't matter how much you make it's how much you SAVE. You idiots buying 70k trucks that are going to depreciate in a few years aren't saving ****. You mad that I don't own a car and because of that I save an extra 500 dollars a month that I put into a savings account? I make far less than what the average miscer ALLEGEDLY makes on here but I can guarantee that I save more per month. How many of you miscers put in 2 grand straight into savings every month?

The lowest of the low when it comes to IQ.

I cannot comprehend how difficult it is for Doordash/Uber Eats drivers to fuking understand that condos have more than one floor, and more than one apartment unit, and that the number on the address that doesn't denote the street number is the condo number.

This may be a way to identify the genetic defects in society; see who has the app as a delivery person.

Don't get wrong, some people are doing it to support themselves, and are more than competent...but the majority are fuking idiots.

0 tip crew because fuk you, I'm not here to subsidize your wages. You have a problem? Take it up with DD/UberEats, or find another job.

My friend was doing Ubereats last month while waiting for his new job, he said it sucked. After gas he made around $500 a week and that’s not counting the wear and tear on his car

Look here Norwood 5 that truck will make me 200+k /year
Losers let it happen, winners make it happen.
