Do Americans live in a surveillance state? srs
Does misc know think law-abiding citizens are being surveilled? The Patriot act allows warrantless surveillance, which was passed due to 9/11
Also, exactly 0 attacks have been thwarted in the last 20 years due to the patriot act. srs

Yes we do, but I just don’t blame the patriot act. Technology just advanced and became so cheap that we spy on and report ourselves.
A large number of houses, apartments, and businesses have at least a camera doorbell, if not a full blown camera system. Soon every building will have multiple cameras. Combine that with public cameras, cell phone cameras, social media and facial recognition AI software and there will be a video record of almost every square inch of the country at any moment. Sprinkle in the fact that people love to shame and rat eachother out, and you can see how were headed towards a full blown fascist regime at some point in the near future
