Where the fuk did this guy come from? Tom Macdonald

Heard this song at a thrift store of all places and had to look up the lyrics. How is this guy not cancelled yet, and how the heck did he rack up these massive numbers? I can't imagine him being on radio/tv. Crazy as hell that the new anti-establishment is coming from the right now. And this guy is def not the poster picture of the right lol. Interesting times.

Wait a little on this one, they for sure have a plan for him
Just like how they flipped lilnasx after his country radio play
Writing for Vice, Drew Millard described MacDonald as "turgid", and wrote that he rose to fame by "taking the undercooked platitudes of the Intellectual Dark Web and filtering them into songs", adding that he "can feel like an unstoppable force of reactionary dumbness".[13] Garrett Gravley of the Dallas Observer wrote that his songs being "white victim complex anthems" made him an "oracle of sorts" among "zoomer Trump supporters".[8] Nick Monroe of conservative magazine The Post Millennial described MacDonald as "anti-woke".[18] Ariana Thompson of Inked described MacDonald as "one of the most divisive personas hip hop has ever seen" and wrote that his right-wing fanbase "cling[s] onto every word he utter[s]".[1]

I actually like alot of his stuff. Real meaning behind his words and they resonate. That being said he flipflops alot on different songs about the same songs.

Trashes Trump then turns around and writes about people who "voted for trump that got labeled as racist but ain't"

I don't know this guy has some unpredictable chit. Just listened to "Anxiety," about the realest song I've ever heard. Was surprised at the amount of depth.

You can hold all those views and remain consistent. The amount of black/white and "us/them" thinking surrounding us blinds us to more nuanced views. I will say this, the harping on race is annoying, even when I agree lol.

He's actually been around for a couple years. He hasn't been canceled because he's basically 100% independent. Him and his girl do all the videos and he even produces alot of the beats. Refuses to sign to a label. My favorite song is "People So Stupid" He has a ton of other good ones too. Eminem actually produced a song for him a little while ago too.

Looks like he basically did the Lil Dicky thing, making a ton of music videos for his tracks, cultivating a YouTube audience. Dude puts out new videos frequently, has some serious hustle.
Got pretty good flows, some of his songs have good variety in rhythmic stylings in verses. Nothing on a top tier level, but compared to mumble rappers he's a slayer. (But then, so is Vanilla Ice, even.)

It's a bit rough on the edges. Start from the beginning, if nothing else there's value in the fact that there are young people actively speaking up and fighting the tyranny and propaganda we've been inundated with these past years. He looks retarded, yes, but he is contributing more to our freedom that throwing some replies to the void, as many of us simply discuss away without much actual impact. 6 million views, that's a lot of people thinking about our current situation and not rolling over for the next big lie that comes around.

Also, I highly recommend you check out his spoken word stuff. The video I posted, also "Anxiety."

You can dislike Trump and still not think all trump supporters are racists, doesn't seem like a great example of flipflop

His reaction videos are much better than the music if I am being honest........every single reaction is "ohhhhh chit" or "dam he spitting truth in these bars yo" I agree with your sentiment......at least someones rapping something important......

This is art, real art IMO. Most "music" is entertainment, or background noise, this stuff hits hard. These guys reactions too, haha, damn. It's kind of nuts how provocative MacDonald can be without offending a single group.

He's been around a bit now.

His lyrics are usually really good. His "hooks" (is that what a chorus is called in a rap song? Correct me if I'm wrong) usually sound like total shyt though.

When your product is entertainment you have to find your niche.

Yes the counter culture is coming from the right now but all current and future celebrities who take part are grifters. This guy is a company who did market research and is now directing his product to the most likely consumer.

You may be correct, but sometimes it seems like people like you can never be satisfied (and this definitely isn't the first time I've seen this).

Any time someone who is speaking common sense/is saying conservative like things, and maybe gains a little traction (which Tom really doesn't have THAT much) it seems invariably there are always those who default to "controlled opposition" and can never be satisfied that maybe it's actually genuine. I'm a cynical phuck too, so I can understand to a point.
