Public schools should have uniforms
School is for studying, for learning, and for socializing with other kids. This socialization should be expressed through words, ideas, and games.
School uniforms put everyone on an equal field and removes unnecessary distractions. School uniforms eliminate social class within the school and force students to see each other as equals, at least relative to having no uniforms.
How do we know that school uniforms produce the best learning environments? Because rich people send their kids to schools with uniforms. Powerful people understand the value of education, and the value of a school uniform in setting the proper learning environment.
As someone with no sense of style even I can appreciate the value of uniforms. Cops, doctors, nurses, firefighters, military, politicians, janitors, etc. Everyone wears uniforms, from highest to lowest classes of jobs, to communicate their position as well as function.
On top of this, school uniforms simplify life and are extremely cheap compared to name brand clothing that kids, and immature adults, are so fond of.

The %age of students who go to public school with the intention of learning something on a daily basis is very low, and getting lower every year. Kids simply do not see the value in education. Only when they mature, do they realize the opportunities they've thrown away.
The kids that do go with the intent on learning every day are the ones who have the importance of education hammered into their head at home consistently.

My high school implemented a soft uniform because there were so many gang members who keep showing up in Bloods and Crips colors and chit lmao. So you couldn't wear certain colors and they would send you home if you did. There were other anti-slooting measures like skirts had to fall below you fingertips but no one gave a fook about those ones.
Anyway, I like your idea OP, cosigned.

If the gov't can make you wear a specific set of clothes, they can also make you wear a mask.
They can also make you wear a star of david to identify your heritage.
Make sure you understand what you're asking for.

Having some basic standards for clothing in public schools would do more positive than negative I think.

You know it's not about education, and quite the opposite (it's designed to dumb the general public down), when a step towards collectivism/Marxism like uniforms is avoided, simply because they might actually help and get the students better educations.
In any event, I took my kids out of public school. They wear uniforms and it makes it easier to get them ready. The school itself is fairly strict so there are a lot of factors involved, but they're all getting far superior educations than their public school experiences. And I live in a good area with a notably good public school system.

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

And for what it's worth, not that I'll ever defend sloots in any way shape or form, but you should focus on holding the boys accountable for being cavemen if they can't control themselves over that chit. Literal monkey behavior.
You also live in a warped reality if you think anywhere close to the majority of HS students give a single solitary fuk about their education.

You're not really answering my question either, but just telling me I'm delusional for acknowledging the realities of inner city high schools in America today. Kids in my high school threw desks at teachers. Fights broke out in class. All kinds of phucked up chit.
So anyway, I'll ask again, what's wrong with having a soft uniform where certain known gang-affiliated clothing and straight up slootwear is against the rules?

Doesn't really make much of a difference. Plenty of kids still act up, misbehave, cause problems, etc.
