I personally think abortions should be legal because you're right, people are fooking retards. The problem is that the conversation isn't even around legality anymore, it's about celebration. IMO, it's straight up repulsive that a woman could be so callous as to flush out an unborn child because it's not convenient for her. Sloots should be shamed for getting doing that, but try to tell that to the average woman today and she will just spout off delusional nonsense about MY body MY choice MY life MY options, me me me me me, as if that's the alpha and omega of the entire conversation (which for her, it is of course-- a major tell about the real motives of people arguing for abortion I think).

But if you try to walk back the actual legality of abortion just one inch from "it is legal 8.99 months from conception" (even if you come at it from a completely logical position rather than a moral or emotional one), the left acts like you are advocating for the Holocaust. How do you nail down "when life begins"? Hint: you can't yet, so it's always going to be a subjective conversation at a certain level. The trimester system is a reasonable estimation in my opinion. Anything after the first trimester should be illegal and harshly punished.

It's not that complicated.
This is was coherent and really robust, critical thinking. Can't say I disagree.

repped.

Seeing as no-one in this thread is a women I think your opinions on abortion are invalid.

You don’t know what it’s like to be pregnant and the problems that come with it.

If a women is pregnant through sexual
assault and wants to abort it then who hell are you to say otherwise? You can’t possible imagine what it’s like and this literally does not involve you in slightest.

Unless your partner gets an abortion without your consent then you really have no place to have an opinion on this subject.

So many fkn pathetic people on this forum, maybe if you guys spent less time having an opinion on everything you might actually escape your incel life

This can't be a srs post.

I'm not a murderer and I have opinions on the legality of murder. I'm not a banker and I have opinions on how the banks should be legislated. I'm not an university professor and I have ideas about how the university curriculum should look. Society is a collective process that we all sign up to participate in every single day, and the commonality and acceptance of abortion in a society has far-reaching effects on the mental health of that society. You better phuckin' believe it's my business brah.

Also, the amount of abortions due to rape is on the order of one-tenth of a percent. It's not a valid data point to frame the entire conversation around.

People have this thing called empathy and critical thinking that allows them to reasonably analyze the pros and cons of situations that they haven't personally been in.

Was about to post something similar

You've never experienced X, so you can't have an opinion on it..

This type of comment never holds weight unfortunately.

I said in my post it was an extreme example. You said evidence. I used it highlight that no good can ever come out of brining an unwanted child into the world. From the beginning that child will be at a disadvantage as well as the parents.

I wasn't directing that it at you, more of the OP.

Comparing being pregnant through sexual assault to being a banker is a bit of silly comparison. Those examples you listed are quite objective, I don't think many people have an opinion on whether or not murder is okay or not as its universally seen as unacceptable but there are many people who seem to have an opinion on abortions.. Those other examples aren't very good either because we can gain a good idea from what they are like, they don't have anything to do with your biology or your physical experiences. A man can never understand what it is like to be pregnant and what it involves whereas a man can understand a job!

Being pregnant is a very gender related experience whereas those examples you listed don't have anything to do with gender.

Yes you don't need to experience something to have an opinion on something but you do if you want to understand why

I understand people are allowed to have their opinions but topics like this men can't understand because they can never experience it! we can't understand what it is like but we can understand what its like to be a university professor!!

Well again, the sexual assault pregnancy narrative is a LARP. Abortions for such reasons account for something on the order of 0.1% of the whole. It's not really even a topic worth debating because it's such an infrequent occurrence (and frankly, I'd bet the true figure is probably closer to 0.01% percent and 9 out 10 sloots who claim that are just deluding themselves because they know what they are doing is so callous and cruel).

But as for this absurd idea that because "no man can become pregnant" therefore "no man can comment or opine on pregnancy" is feminist garbage, I'm sorry brah. Women don't have some monopoly on the legislation of pregnancy unless they are ready to hand over a monopoly on the legislation of impregnation (i.e. I can abort my financial and parental obligations whenever I want because my semen my choice).

I think that's starting down a dangerous, nihilistic slippery slope where society just becomes a race to the bottom and a complete rejection of any form of responsibility whatsoever. Are you really arguing for that?

My main point is that the real debate should be purely about when the embryo/fetus is considered a human being.

The pro-life side generally seems more consistent on this point, conception. But I am open to reasonable conservative positions based on the development stage.

Maybe I skimmed the thread to much but I don't condone a woman having an abortion because she couldn't be arsed with protection (both sides to blame), I more mean it if pregnancy occurs through assault or sheer accident and maybe bad circumstances.

I disagree with your second part as I don't believe men can understand what its like in the slightest to be pregnant and give birth. Like I said if the women went behind the mans back and got an abortion then yeah I don't agree with that but if they both agree its what's best or it is done through assault I just don't think we have the right to judge them on that or really have an opinion on it.

Many miscers seem to have a strong opinion on a wide variety of subjects which don't concern them in the slightest and seem to be so quick to judge others on their actions without taking the time to actually understand the process they went through to reach said conclusion, I guess this level of ignorance frustrates me.

I suppose it should really be done on a case by case basis.

I don't care if being pregnant is hard, get the **** over it. You were literally put on this planet to do so. That's your reason for existing. I also don't care if the pregnancy came from a cuddle struggle. Just because you were traumatized from the experience, it doesn't you mean you should be able to kill an innocent child because you feel shameful about what happened. I was sexually assault when i was a kid, does that mean I can have an opinion? Or do i need to have a pair of tits?

Pro-choice enables baby killing and sexual irresponsibility.

anti-abortion laws force people to actually assess risk and take appropriate measures.

Pro-choicers are subhuman and aren't worth aruguing or associating with. Elevate your company higher than baby killers.

So now you're just going full on word police mode. I'm sorry Rollerballkun what are your pronouns so that i can better address you moving forward.

Just so everyone is clear, midpoint throught the second trimester is 20 weeks or 5 months.

"In the second trimester of pregnancy -- months 4, 5, and 6 -- your baby's fingers and toes are well-defined. Their eyelids, eyebrows, eyelashes, nails, and hair are formed, and teeth and bones are becoming denser. Your baby can even suck their thumb, yawn, stretch, and make faces."

You're ****ed up rollerballkun...
