There was a time I felt this way.

Now I'm connecting my ledger to defi. Would never have thought about doing that a couple years back.

It's risky but I reasoned that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Tempted to do the 40k for the icy white card. I just don't think CRO will perform as well as most crypto assets.

I don't think it's worth it tbh.

40k locked up for 6 months and then you have to keep it locked up to benefit from the card. It's a lot of money to have sitting there. And for onky an extra 2% cash back compared to the previous tier. You don't get any extra earn bonuses. I think it's better to go with the green/purple and maybe grandfather into an ice white eventually

Here's what i've been doing for a few months to increase DCA using crypto card.

im not using crypto.com card , mine spends direct from a btc wallet.

Main difference is that we live more frugal, buying items on sale, etc. since its wasted sats otherwise.

Would you not have to pay taxes on every single purchase if the btc in your wallet has gone up?

Yeah I don't spend old coins , the bitcoin i spend is typically ~1-3 weeks after purchase. like, i would not be spending the bitcoin i bought in October last year on a coffee today, there is big CGT implications on that.

And if price shoots up to 80k then i'll adjust accordingly.

BTC i spent today i bought around $48k a week or two ago. In todays case I have a capital loss and can use it to offset.

Hopefully as these things become more widespread, the laws will change to reflect.

Earning a guaranteed 10% for 6 months on 40K is pretty incredible on its own, and 5% cashback vs 3% cashback is massive if you spend a lot. I'm bullish on CRO with their early-ish stage and incredible sponsorship deals, so this is the best thing going for me.

I'm not denying the returns arent better, but you earn the same 10% on your 5k stake aswell. 40k is a lot of money to have tied down for 6 months that literally can't be moved or touched. The extra 2% in cash back is nice no doubt, but I think the better option is stake for the green and grandfather into the white.

Unless you're a millionaire and having 40k locked into a volatile asset doesn't bother you the slightest

I've got the middle tier card with $4,000 in CRO locked-up for 180 days. Pretty incredible rewards IMO - 10% interest on the locked-up CRO paid in CRO weekly to your account, 3% cashback on purchases using the card paid in CRO instantly after purchase, Spotify/Netflix reimbursement up to around $25/mo paid in CRO instantly after monthly payment, access to airport lounges, and a few other perks. You can also get pretty great rates lending out other coins, particularly stablecoins which will give 12% interest for 3 month terms.

The 10% interest on locked-up CRO is really 17.5% if you count the Netflix/Spotify reimbursement (assuming you subscribed for those regardless). Plus there's always the chance that CRO increases in value too (already up 30% since I got in a month ago).

Rewards get even better if you can spring for the higher tier cards.
This is awesome.

So for the indigo/jade, you would have to stake $4k in CRO, plus whatever you decide to keep on the card for spending purposes??

Sounds like a great deal
