Key is to keep the debts low / zero, contribute to investments as much as possible, limit your depreciating asset possession (expensive cars), and acquire assets that grow in value (real estate). I think it's unrealistic to expect most people to successfully fall into success, evading wagelife, even through entrepreneurship.

I think in 10-15 years time it's realistic for a lot of people to wagecel and then early retire if they pretty much do the above.

I relate to your posts dude. Everyday is literally the same. I don't give a fuk about the work I do and I feel like I have to strap in for 8 hours everyday. Sometimes it's exciting to solve an issue or work on a new project, but not for 8 hours everyday.

True-ish, however he is just trying to ease the transition into real tyranny by saying "SEE GUYS, YOU ALREADY ARE UNDER TYRANNY SO JUST ACCEPT ALL THIS BS."

Quality of life matters. Happy people are more productive people in constricted work hours than in more expanded work hours. I can leave my job and go to a different one with better benefits and money, more time off, whatever - and my old work place loses money and human capital. Sure they can replace me with some FNG, but he wont know crap and will ultimately leave like me, unless my old work place assimilates to be on par with competitors to keep their talent - henceforth keeping making a profit. Same in the public sector, except with results and "production" in place of profit.

This Noam guy is just blowing out smoke trying to get people to accept monopoly rule, which would crush the above statement and lead to unbelievable misery in the masses.

those people are retarded. minimal gov is the answer. this guy is over here saying that libertarians are actually authoritarians because the companies have too much control and his solution is a more powerful government except his authoritarian leaders would be the "good guys", its such a stupid ideology, every single time we give too much power to anyone it gets abused but these people think if they just install their "good people" in power it would be different. Their position amounts to, well if someone who thought exactly like me had complete control then we would be better off, except that will never play out like that in the real world and they never consider that its human nature to take advantage of the power you have.

You make a good point about competition among workplaces. If you have the qualifications to choose between companies, then the companies need to incentivize you to work for them which is good for the employee.

Office life is GOAT. Not sure how people can do the blue collar work where they actually have to do the same tedious work for literally 8 hours straight every day. Get a college degree, get a comfy salaried office job where you "work" a 40 hour week but in actuality you fuk around most of the day and maybe do 15-20 hours of real work per week. Even better, get an "office" job where you can work from home like I have and life is amazing. I get paid 80k a year for doing a few hours of work a day from my couch in front of my tv and do errands and chit around the house the rest of the day.

Running a business is risky and expensive. Being a wagie is not.

Read the book "dhandho investor" to get a look at how immigrants run successful businesses by themselves.

They can barely speak English but frugal business sense propels them to millionaire status rapidly.
