People who do more than 3-4 exercises per gym day...
Why?
When I see guys doing dumbbell curls, then barbell curls, then machine preacher curls, its like...why? Work harder on one of the three, skip the other two, and stop wasting time.

Your muscle activates all together. From a scale of 0-100%. Incline chest fly actually had the most chest activation

There's some exceptions imo, but overall I agree. I'm certainly not full HIT or anything, but I do definitely lean more towards the less is more philosophy when it comes to lifting (volume wise anyway, frequency wise I do train things more often than a lot of the bro scientists would recommend).

Plus each exercise has a slight variation enough to target auxiliary muscles

A friend of mine also didn't see noticeable shoulder width until i taught him how to do lateral raises right.
You can't tell me a military press is the same as a lateral raise. Or a bench press the same as flyes. They're completely different movements.
And they'll target the muscle differently. But everyone's free to train as they prefer.

I tried switching to a less volume routine like push pull legs and I lost noticeable muscle size fast.
idk if my body needs extreme stimulation to grow/maintain but I typically do 12 - 16 sets for tris, 12 for bis, 10 - 12 for side delts. anything less and I look small

IMO 8-12 sets per muscle two times a week with a solid RPE of 8-9 with an occasional drop set to failure will activate all the optimal muscle growth you need, assuming your diet is in check.
I see a lot of guys doing way too much volume just for volumes sake and IMO they are wasting their time. I know because I was one of those guys when I was younger not realizing it was overkill and my body(not actual muscles) got beat up because of it.
The gym is one long lifetime session, not individual sessions, the sooner you realize that the healthier your body will be later in life.

Variety is the spice of life. It would be boring AF to hit the gym and just do the same couple exercises. I do one compound lift that I put all my focus into then about 4-5 accessory lifts that I just focus on contraction and pump.
After training for 15 years a brosplit with decent volume is most enjoyable.

i doubt it. Pretty sure "targeting" certain areas of a muscle was debunked, if I'm not mistaken. They've placed EKG on chest while people did different variations of bench press.

I feel weak by the 3rd exercise srs. Sometimes I can see a 4th if it's like, something simple like cable rope pushdowns, or otherwise a muscle group I didn't already hit today like a random ab exercise. Regardless, always end the workout with cardio crew.

So OP you do what 1-2 exercise per muscle a day? I usually do push/pull day. So you do like what 4 exercises total for biceps and back?

Back when I was training/eating more like a BBer I could hit 28-32 working sets in a day on a single muscle group. Would walk out the gym looking physically larger. Skin would be tight AF and the muscles would be full and round.
You don't get that on lower volume routines though.

People like to claim pro BBers are full of it and just get that big due to gear but its not so. Its a combination of nutrition, genetics, training and gear. Gear is a pretty small portion of the equation tbh.
