I speak 4. If you weren’t privileged enough to learn them young, then it’s super difficult without top notch discipline. You’ll likely never reach fluency in whatever language you want to learn. Most give up early along the way. Hopefully you’re not like most people and have lifelong discipline and continue to find joy in whatever language you’re learning. Embrace the culture. Enjoy their media. Date Swedish girls.

You have to throw yourself into the culture. Read Swedish books, listen to Swedish music, watch Swedish shows/movies. Use everything you do as an opportunity to learn a new Swedish word.

Don't fall for the trap of memorizing phrases so you can vomit them back out, you have to learn the grammar to have a true understanding of the language. You'll know you're on the right track if you start thinking in Swedish syntax

Did you use rosetta stone or duolingo? I’m using rosetta stone and two months in I have a rudimentary grasp of the language, but an improvised conversation would nuke me.

I took a Spanish class in my senior year of hs and I still recall a lot of what I learned. Mind you I didn't even pay attention in this class. The teacher was a huge bish and people notoriously failed her class if they coudln't keep up. I can't speak it fluently but I can still have a level of basic understanding. If I wanted it, I can learn Spanish in a jiffy. When I played cod and came across Spanish players, they were always amazed when I spoke what Spanish I knew. Sometimes they even felt proud that others are learning their language, lol. Mind you, these were only a few sentences, but it sounded fluent, lol.

If you work at it everyday, for 5 hours a day, you'll become fluent within 5 months, ****git.

You'll be picking up bishes in several different languages in no time(No asian though, fk off wit that nonsense).

Btw, as a tip, start learning by reading children's book. The more children's book you can read and comprehend, the more you are encouraged to keep going. If keep failing to recall a word, you'll feel discouraged. This builds up and you'll end up quitting altogether.

Op, I take back what I said about reading childrens books.

The best way to learn is probably by speaking and mimicking the language.

You brain has a very large area dedicated to language. It does not a a circuit dedicated to reading, unless you make it.
