My brother was mauled by a Doberman. Tripped at a family party at my uncles and the doberman just pounced on his face.

Yup, own one currently. Curled up next to me sleeping like a baby. By far the biggest personality and smartest dog I've ever met but also super needy. Can't walk out of the room without him following.

lol at getting them as family dog

they are alert/guard dogs. we had a few in our junk yard for protection. they are loud and aggressive by nature. lol at domesticating them.

Had one back in the mid-80s. Sweetest dog I ever had. Whenever I was sitting somewhere he'd have to be right there, in physical contact with me. If I'd move and break contact, he'd move to make contact again.
