La Palma Cumbre Vieja volcano unrest. Eruption has begun.

La Palma is the subject of a possible mega tsunami threat to the entire Atlantic coastline, due to eruption and massive landslide into the ocean.

There hasn't been a cataclysmic event yet and may not be.

Most experts do not expect this to happen and it's not like I'd be heading for the hills or anything.

On top of it there would be 5-6 hours warning for the US East Coast.

Really won't be able to tell anything for 3-5 hours till it's light if they even get people out to look at the fault then. I've got the stream on in the background listening for whatever it sounds like when a mountain breaks and drops into the ocean but all it has been is dogs and the occasional engine screaming by.
Volcano is cool but it's a big nothingburger in regards to the tsunami wiping out the east coast. Would be exciting if it did though

I didn't see any earthquakes in the data that couldn't be noise otherwise. There's like a 3.0 that you wouldn't feel.

I am not a geologist, just been through some very brief seismic training but I don't see where the energy for a tsunami would be coming from.
