Thanks China for ruining me financially (stocks and cryptocels on suicidewatch)

Anyone else impacted by the Evergrande scandal fking over the stock and crypto market? Tens of thousands of $ vanished in a couple of days. Anyone else in the same boat? I have most of my net worth in growth stocks (tech, green energy/solar and meme stocks). Thanks China for fking me over

I've been in the markets since 1996, same **** different day. Think 5-10 years from now and ignore the volatility.

I don't want to pay taxes on all the crypto sales I made...I'd rather just have more LOSS than GAINS lol

The only crypto I want in my life, is that which I can mine. If it goes up, great nice surprise. If it goes down, oh well, my electric bill was overpriced for a length of time. Lol.

Buying at a 2% lower price than yesterday doesn’t mean it’s discounted

Paying less than it’s actually worth, that’s a discount

We stopped investing solely in the market when we realized how much interference was being played by both politicians and foreign governments. In a free society, there are major things that must be in place to remain intact; free speech, private property, and firearms to protect them. Assets are your best friends in a failing economy and inflation. Assets will also rise with inflation.

Now isn't the time to be messing in the stock market without lots of experience and knowledge.

I sold most of my growth stocks on Friday, thankfully. All I have exposure wise is some dividend generating stocks and not to much of that.

Appears that more stock market pain is on the way due to China. Imagine though that the different world feds will step in to help create market stability if called for.

This morning I was reading an article about BlackRock and their push over the last few weeks to have people invest into Chinese stocks. Seems BlackRock appears to have had other motives for their pushing the purchase of Chinese securities though.

An accountant I know was saying that BlackRock is "shady" in his opinion. That is what I ended up selling last week, a BlackRock fund.

The article I read ~

OP were you planning on retiring this morning? If not, what difference does a dip make unless you have options expiring.

Losted 21k with sprt merging with gree recently. Everybody holding thru merger got fcuked hard. Day of merging nobody could sell or buy. But shorts were able to short the stock to oblivion. Absolutely scammed and manipulated. But not gonna point fingers. Nobody to blame but myself. I will get it back! Still up a gang this year tho. Prob getting out the market once I hit my goal. To many manipulation and fraud going on with the stock market. It's so bad they don't even hide it anymore.

I invest passively, it's a long term thing and a 2% market drop is nothing.

Bad: If anyone was counting on the 2020s performing like the 2010s did, I have some bad news. Governments are heavily leveraged, covid woes are not going away any time soon, climate change is starting to bite, inflation is a real possibility and countries around the world are getting more defensive and spooked with the changing world order further suppressing global trade.

Good: Lower your expenses, invest your savings every month, pick low cost index funds unless you are going to research heavily on a continual basis, hold until retirement. Long term investment in the stock market is the simplest route to financial independence.

Picked up a bit of CLF, gonna dollar cost average into that, atom crypto etc. polygon, bitcoin, but meng, I feel much more red cumin…

We have a couple different portfolios. One I managed for years, but sold off most of what i was managing because I was using it as a learning tool and not so much trying to make a lot of money. I did better than I was expecting. I grabbed a chit load of AMEX when it crashed back in 2016. It’s up 200% currently (bought it at $53 a share, grabbed 100 shares).

Problem is, I’m not sure I even want to hang on to it. Its not a bad investment for the long haul, but the Marxist and fascist narratives coming out of these cc companies got me pissy and after the last couple stunts, I’m ready to bail.

The issue is that with inflation, you don’t want to pay off debt, so other than making payments with it, I’m not sure what else to do with it
