So basically they stopped out at that location, went for a hike, maybe camped near the vehicle, then she went back into the van to clean up or sleep, then he killed her / strangled her in the middle of the night and the next day tried to hide her body? With her slippers outside the van, clearly that indicates she was alive at that site, then killed once inside the van. Also, based on the aerial shots of the scene where body was found, Brian did not do a very good job trying to hide her in the brush. Almost like he left it wide out in the open, hoping animals would eat or something stupid like that.
