PS5 has the best launch lineup in history

First years for new consoles are generally pretty baron. Just look at last gen when PS4 had nothing but TLoUR and Resogun the first year, and Xbox had literally nothing. 10 months after PS5 launch and now people are saying a console has ever had such an impressive launch lineup. Can't disagree.

Com on man. Loads of PS4 re releases, a ****ing ps3 remaster that changed nothing apart from graphics and feels ancient(demon souls). Tons of average games. Only 2 good exclusives in ratchet and clank and returnal(both short as **** for the price).

basically this. ratchet and clank was really good but other than returnal it's pretty slim for ps5 at the moment.

The "Launch" of both consoles was pretty ass in the grand scheme of things. Not a lot of consoles were out there, and a lot of games were cross plats. The real exclusives just started dropping, and now Xbox has been dropping a game a month on GamePass which is pretty hype. I'm looking forward to Halo Infinite, and how well it does.

Okay, so the list you have is metascores 75 and up, that are Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft exclusives? As in you can’t play Spider-Man on Xbox or Nintendo systems. And demons souls is at the top, with an 92. I think Bugsnax is the lowest, with a 75.

From the stuff I just googled, general consensus is like SNES, PS2, and the OG Xbox.

All games are obviously dated, but what they offered at the time upon launch was much greater in scale then what we have now.

I dont know if its all time .... But agreed, this is probably the bestfirst year Sony has ever done and that's compared with other companies as well - Maybe Switch can rival it because didnt super mario odyssey, botw and a couple other big hitters launch in the first year of switch's life as well.

Anyone claiming this hasnt been a fantastic year for gaming especially a launch console year is most likely full of chit and an angry bitter curmudgeon.


- PS4 games - remastered with 4k 60fps
- Gamepass becoming a bigger focus and games running wild with smart delivery and backward compatibility makes 360/xbox games look even better and play at higher framerates
- PS5 dual sense changes how games feel and are played
- Consoles can finally provide decent graphics/performance mode options (with rtx)
- Consoles have finally adopted SSD masterace, getting rid of those crappy load times entirely
- Tons of indie games that look just as good, if not better and play better than your typical AAA title
- Both consoles are on par with a high end pc
- So many amazing games especially on playstation's exclusive list
- GTA V REREMASTERED!!!!!!!



The only chit that sucks is the:
- lack of availability, but again I really fail to see how it's so hard to get a PS5 or a Series X, I see them being sold pretty frequently. I can only assume people not finding them are not trying hard enough.
- sony bumping prices to 70 usd
- big exclusives opting for cross-gen shenanigans

Agreed, OP. I haven't srsly played games in years but GOT, Astro's, & Miles Morales were all great. I also just started Ratchet & Clank...HNNNNNNNG!

BRB calling god of war 2 a ps2 launch title?

That being thought, Ps5 has a damn thick, solid and cut library. I do get that real gamers prefer a constant flow of releases. Just not all games like horizon fw, sly Cooper 5, and god of war 2022 are off. But a double announcement of Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine was what makes it worth holding onto your Ps5.

Here I was just remarking on how the PS5 has absolutely nothing that grabs my interest while I am eagerly awaiting Forza Horizon 5.

That OP is just the typical case where some hardcore gamer nerds are acting like I should care about a bunch of overrated garbage that I don't give a flying phuck about, that does nothing for me.

OP posts one of the worst launch lineups I have ever seen and calls it the best. Says everything about him.

ps5 and xbox series x has failed in year one next gen games. if you waited or couldn't buy one, you weren't missing out. the fact that list contains ps4 games with 4k resolution patches and pretending like its a ps5 game just tells you everything. the best thing the ps5 got this year was a video this September telling us what games are coming in the future, but we still no release dates.

Ghost of sushi and Demon's Souls were the only games that mattered to me but this is coming from a guy who didn't have a PS4 and hadn't played them before.

R&C and Spiderman were zzzzzfests....but I can see why some people like those games.
