when did rock music and bands become cringey?

Mid to late 2000's IMO.

Since then, rap and hip-hop has taken over - infused with electronic, pop, and RnB elements.

it's pretty much just imagine dragons, and the corpse of foo fighters

maroon 5 were smart and switched up to becoming more of a pop band

the last hurrah of rock - 2000's alt rock - died off and folky **** like mumford and sons/artic monkeys kind of took its place

Rock and metal are underground for the first since they became popular in the 70's

Literally everyone used to listen to bands like Metallica, Ozzy, Motley Crue, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Godsmack etc

Now everything is pop/rap fused
