Any of you brahs stopped lifting weights?

Sup brahs so lately actually since the beginning of the year i have been doing more of calisthenics and a few muaythai/boxing classes and i love it. Thought i would never stop lifting weights but nowadays my knees cant handle it. Also i am really loving martial arts as it is really good for my mental health.

So just wondering if any of you guys made a shift?

Your knees "can't handle it" is because you have a muscle imbalance somewhere and probably have sh!tty form. As I got older, I stopped lifting heavy and am more focused on overall balanced fitness and conduct a lot of single legged lifts and mostly stay away from barbells. (Ded fkn Srs)

I don't lift like I used to, that's for sure. I've basically reached the point where maintaining my physique doesn't take much(sometimes I train once a week, sometimes three, sometimes five..sometimes none) because I built such a solid foundation when I was younger. It seems odd but I've noticed that when I stopped lifting so much my skin actually looks better(I still walk at least several miles a day, so I get the oxygen delivery to my skin so that it still looks good).

No. I just mix everything together. Heavy lifting, calisthenics and a bit of cardio here and there which also lightly works the muscle. Lifting hasn't stopped.

Given that I don't weigh 300lbs, I can do "heavy" lifting and mix it up with loads of other sh*t.

JFL at the amateurs twits who think someone who benches 225 is "super" and "on roids". Benching 225 is like relatively "normal" and won't make you die quicker, otherwise just walking down the sidewalk will make you "die quicker". JFL at amateurs...

I stopped lifting. This is the physique I attained, and lifts were

Deadlift: 465
Front Squat: 300
OHP: 180
Pull ups: 195 bw + 90 for 6 reps

Nowadays, I just do calisthenics when it's convenient in my schedule. If I go to the park with my kids, I'll do a set of max pulls, or I'll just rep out a hundred decline push ups when at home.

pick one lol

I fell out of it for awhile, life speed bump, had a inguinal hernia repaired, alcoholism....
Getting back into it now and I already feel 100x better.

I'm not going HAM like I was, some lifts irritate the spot where my hernia was so i have to be cautious.
PRs: Back Squat- 410x1 / Front Squat- 320x1/ Bench- 325x1 / Deadlift- 505x1

I rarely do compound lifts now but I still do weighted pull ups, chin ups, push ups, and jumping squats regularly. Im hoping this will allow me to exercise for a long time since im not going to be at the same risk of having a lifting injury from lifting heavy.

No good reason - I'm just an idiot that lacks discipline

I kinda lied though - I did go through a few periods where I'd get back into it for maybe 2/3 months but nothing consistent

I feel like if I quit lifting I’d wither away. So I try to at least maintain some strength.

I mean it only really takes 2-3 times a week for like 30-45 min to maintain so why not?

About 2 years ago I was peak natty. See AVI, I was going to do my first BBing show in 2020 but it got cancelled. The gyms closed for a little while. They're open now but in that span of time since about March of last year I haven't really been lifting much at all. I have gone to the gym on occasion but I just haven't gotten back into a consistent routine like I used to.

I'm not severely out of shape but I am full normie status right now, I was a literal god amongst men. Feelsbadman
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

Been years since I lifted. If I could go back I would never go heavy on the big 3 ever. I would also rarely bench and mostly use DB's for pressing movements.

I still get accused of juicing from the frame I built and maintained from over a decade of natty lifting. So long as I do a few pushups and pullups and don't bloatmaxx I still look like I lift.

[QUOTE=seksi post_id=1647865103]I stopped lifting. This is the physique I attained, and lifts were

lmfao I know the feel. I did 3 sets of pullups and 3 sets of leg raises today while I was with my toddler at the park.

i stopped for a week or 2 after a bad injury and went back down on weights . the older you get the harder to recover from a bad injury . sprinting and heavy weights don't mix
