Went to the grocery store, had a nice stack of coupons, plus they had some nice deals on beef roasts and whatnot (buy one get one free) so I ended up saving almost 40% on my groceries for that trip. But at one point the self-serve checkout stopped taking my couponsbecause I was saving too much money, according to the self-checkout attendant.

Imagine offering coupons and savings to customers but then refusing it if they use too much of it. What the hell, srs.

i bet most coupons have a legal stipulation written somewhere they have the right to refuse the coupon for any reason

But these grocery stores are fuking us over these days. Just last night I spent $50 for a pack of Italian sausage, protein bars, 2 frozen meals, a box of rice and some orange juice ded fkin srs. I understand not all of this is the cheapest food available, but this is basically a day and a half worth of food. $50. Insane.

Last week I picked up some ham and cheese cold cuts, a loaf of bread, dozen eggs, half gallon milk, a pack of chicken drumsticks, 2 avocados, a sack of oranges and some toilet paper and the chit came out to $49 and change I was like U fookin w0t m8

There's another trick to save money at the self checkout lines. It's called not scanning everything and getting stuff for free.

I could have done that, but it would have been too much work. Plus I can't really figure what the cut-off limit would be for the coupons. I think it's a certain percentage of the total; once you reach that you can't scan any more coupons. Plus having to sort groceries with their coupons, etc.Actually the self-checkout clerk came over and looked at it. Told me "It doesn't like when you use too many coupons. You're saving too much money!"
Well for one I'm in a state where you have to bring your own grocery bags. When you lay down one of the bags it sets off the sensor, trying to play like I'm not scanning everything. Do that three times then the person has to come over and check everything. Lame. Plus it's a pain in the ass scanning produce. Not everything has a sticker or barcode so I have to look up the item number. Kind of a pain in the ass. Then you have the crap with the coupons... If I go to a regular checkout lane, I can watch to make sure the sale prices go through, but can't with self-checkout.

btw my grocery store even during peak hours the staffed checkout lanes are always 4 people long. Grocery stores want more people to use the self-checkout so they deliberately keep the other checkout lanes understaffed. Ghey and lame.
