One is an older one that I have in the bedroom, one in the office that pulls double duty as a server and is stuffed with all of my mech drives (I DL a lot of movies still) and one is in the livingroom hooked up to the huge TV/ Rift S. Sending large files over mesh wi-fi sucks, I am not a patient person. I even have a mini PC hooked up to my garage TV lol but that's mostly for looking up car DIY stuff or ordering parts.

My watch has finally ended, by some stroke of luck I was able to score a Gigabyte 3090 through Best Buy at MSRP. Now let us never speak of it again.

Thanks and congrats! What did you end up paying? Got mine for $890+tax from EVGA. I completely forgot that I signed up to be notified. If I get another notification for a 3090 I'll jump on that but I don't really care. It's ridiculous what some of these sell for online. Funny enough my 2080 Hybrid sells for around what I paid for this card so I'll clean it up and most likely post it on ebay, free upgrade.

First air cooled card in a while, but it's going in the living room/ VR rig so it shouldn't be a problem noise wise I hope.

Caved in and ordered a pre built from nzxt. 5950x, 3080ti. I had the 3090 at first but meh seems like overkill. Most benchmarks show it barely outperforming the 3080ti

My gf needs a new pc (4770k, gtx970) so I'm just going to give her my current pc (3900x, 1080ti) and got myself a new one.

Will probably end up ordering some kind of 4k hdr monitor or oled tv to go with. Maybe a g9 idk. Excited to see how it performs, have a big list of backlogged games I was waiting to play when I got a 3 series and could push games at 3440x1440p and 4k properly.

Sigh. I held out as long as I could, but I'm tired of waiting and I'm not paying scalper prices. First time I haven't built my own pc. Feels weird tbh.

Nice bro.

As far as the cars I kind of like the newer STIs but everyone that I know says to keep it stock as they seem to be made of glass lately. I can't keep anything stock lol

Picked up a 5600X, upgraded from a 2600X.
30% gains in CPU.

Haven't OCed it to perfection yet and I haven't timed my ram perfectly either.
Running XMP 3600C16 ram with my 5600X OCed using CTR 2.1 RC5 using PX Profile.
Will have to upgrade my RM650X to a RM850X or something like that since I have to power limit my gpu to 75% currently to prevent crashes.

Got my 5950x and 3080ti build from nzxt today. Clean build, they did well.

I'm not ultra happy with the thermals on my cpu but I think it's cause the nzxt case sucks peen. H710i. The top and front are basically closed with a flat panel and barely any venting. Hitting mid 70s when under load. Not terrible I guess.

Anyways I ordered 6 corsair ql120 rgb fans in white to match my pc colors. Going to move the cpu radiator to the front and mess with some fan configs to see if I can't lower the Temps.

Other then that I'm happy with it. 3080ti is a beast.

pretty sure i have that same case, the front panel is useless and just blocks airflow, you have to remove it in order to improve thermals.. tech jesus did a whole thing on it.

I think I am going to do something like that tbh. I only selected this case cause it was the biggest / "best" one they offered. Aside from the bad cooling it's ok.

That triple monitor setup with the ultra wide and two on top is so clean

Also I decided to dismantle my nzxt build to install some corsair ql rgb fans. Oh sorry... Nzxt decided I had to dismantle the entire pc just to do that.

First off the nzxt 710i is a complete garbage case. Do not get this case. It sucks. My old air 540 was light-years easier to work on. Even my tiny micro air 240 was easier.

Breakdown of my nzxt pre built and What I found:

nzxt builders did not wire any of the fans to the built in fan control hub. Only one fan was actually controllable thru cam software out of the box. Really dumb considering the fan controller is built into the case and wasn't a separate item.

They do OK cable management except they use tiny micro zip ties and tighten them way too tight. Some were very unnecessary.

The case is supposed to come with two rgb strips. One worked fine. At first I never saw the second one and just figured OK maybe I read it wrong and there's only one. No big deal again it was just part of the case and not a separate purchase. Except upon disassembly I discovered a second completely different style of rgb strip just hidden behind the mobo tray not attached to anything. So they plugged it in then just jammed it behind with all the wires idk why.

The case design made it so that i had to remove the entire motherboard just to get to a couple fan screws at the bottom. What I thought would be a few minutes of hooking up fans turned into basically a full rebuild of the pc anyways.

The front and top panel of the case are hard to remove and make you feel like you are breaking your case every time. I had to wedge something into the crack to get enough leverage and of course scuffed up the edge of the panel. Poor design, the back panel pops out with a simple button release.

Overall for the 4k I spent I'd expect a little better esp in terms of having the fans wired properly. That's my biggest annoyance I guess.

Maybe they get away with it knowing the majority of people who buy their pre built computers wont be breaking them down.

Just got a new machine, and already having issues. Well, one particular issue. When it goes to sleep, the unit will wake up, but the display port doesn’t acknowledge that there is anything there. The only way to get around it, is to force restart the whole fukking thing. I’ve updated all drivers, reinstalled windows, switched from display port to HDMI, and the problem persists. I googled this problem, and see quite a few people have the same issue, with some saying its a known windows issue and waiting on patch. I’m wondering if it’s something with my graphics card? 3060ti.

Pls halp

Alrighty so I've stayed out of the GPU buying business since i picked up my 1080 and I'm looking for an upgrade. I have a couple questions and I'm hoping some of you guys can help me out

1) I live 2 hours away from the nearest microcenter. I see on the microcenter website they have a few 3080s and 3080tis but they don't have a founders edition. Ideally I want just to get a founders edition for msrp. Does microcenter stock FEs or only what's listed on their website?
2) Is there any reliable way for me to pick up any 3080 online? Like I see on nowinstock that bestbuy had 3080s in stock today but I'm guessing they're botted out the ass.

All I want is a 3080 at msrp or near msrp. I'll pay a reasonable amount over but not 2x like I'm seeing on ebay. I see so many people here managed to get them. How did you guys do it?
