You’re relatively fuked. The used car market is outrageous. You’ll need to luck up on an exceptional deal. It’ll probably be much closer to 6k than 0k too.

Do yourself a favor and get yourself a 2022 Pearl white Honda Accord. It's only 25k.

You spend 5k now, you'll get about a year worth of driving time. You spend 25k, you get 15 years of driving time. But not really, because you can sell the car down the road for about 10k, meaning you only paid 15k for 15years of driving time, vs 1 year/5k driving time - in a chit box.

Yeah, wrong time to buy a used car. The chip shortage is making new cars too expensive so everyone is buying used which is driving up the price.

Probably buy an economy 4 cylinder with high mileage in your price range.

I had an 06 g6 Pontiac some dueche ran into me and totaled so I ended up having my dad sell me an 07 Chevy equinox for 5G. Definitely was not as good of a car as the G6
