If he didn’t have the greatest wide receiver group ever he’d be struggling mightily. Look at his last year in NE

Patrick Mahomes is an incredible player. A joy to watch play in that offense with Tyreek Hill who is electric, and Kelce. Why can't we just leave it at that?

What's been incredible for KC is the sustainability of health on the offensive side of the ball.

And unlike Aaron Rodgers, he's not a passive aggressive ph agit who is average when it matters.

Hill missed a quarter of the 2019 season
Lost Kareem Hunt middle of 2018, I'd classify this a mental judgement injury

It could undoubtedly be worse for Mahomes, but sustainability of health feels a bit strong
Mahomes himself has been lowkey injury prone, either missing some games completely or taking snaps well below 100% each year

He slowed down in the second half of the season but he was for a time a top candidate.

The point is he was looking way better than he ever had before because those weapons with any Reid ain't fair.

That's not even a relevant comparison. The one year Brady had anything close to the chiefs they were a miracle catch away from the perfect season. Brady won super bowls with not even half of what mahomes has.

Yes but I'm saying that's only in the context of the perfect situation as well. If mahomes had gone to the bears instead of trubisky that draft, the results would be different

Well Steve Young and Dan Marino both started with strong teams and played great football later in their career, but lacked the teams to keep winning titles. I suspect Mahomes falls prey to this too, but I hope not because it would be fun to have someone carry the mantle from Brady.

I mean you just told me that the most decorated QB of all time, the only player in any sport who holds the undisputed GOAT title, couldnt put up the numbers Mahomes has so how would those results not translate to any team who picked him up?

Sure the Bears might still not be title contenders and Mahomes might not lead every statistical passing category in existence like he does now, but he would have performed better than any other QB in the same position

If KC could just give Mahomes a 20th ranked defense vs something always in the 30s, he'd woulda had a shot at Brady...

Not sure why they cant tho, they have top 5 money invested into the D, the league's best safety, a Pro Bowl D Lineman in Chris Jones, 2 first round picks at LB, SB winning D coordinator

I think he would still be great but I don't think he would look anything close to this if he got drafted by the bears or even the Texans that year.

His situation has to be taken into account.

One guy put it like this. In racing, sometimes the best driver also has fastest car. But in this case we don't know what he looks like in another car
