You usually know who is likely to be late or not show up. I have cancelled plans because when I made them I was optimistic and when the day comes I no longer feel it. Life happens. So it’s more spontaneous stuff now instead of planning and it works for me and others.

Pretty much this. Can't stand flaky people. If I make plans the only thing that would make me cancel is something serious like an illness, family emergency, etc. I have a friend who initiates plans with me then pretty much always flakes the day of. Now when she calls or texts and tries to talk about making plans I kinda avoid actually planning something.
