Jason
Especially since all of the sequels up to 2018 don't even matter. Halloween Kills wasn't even comically bad. It was terrible. 2018 was decent but the new movie sucked a fat one.
Jason is at 157 lifetime kills
Michael is now at 58 lifetime kills
Michael gets deducted points for having super woke lefty Jamie Lee Curtis as his nemesis.
Jason gets points for having tommy jarvis as his nemesis.
Jason gets points for going to space.
Jason wins by killing Freddy.
I will say this though. Out of every Freddy, Jason and Michael movie this is the only scene that even really disturbed me as a kid and Michael wasn't even in the damn movie.

Myers seems to be pretty smart. His ability to just find his family members regardless of their location is astounding.
Jason's dumbass just trolls a lake/campground. Dude has the IQ of a rock.
Also Myers is a sneaky killer. He plays in the shadows far more than Jason. Jason just barrels ahead half the time. If Mike is doing his reconnaissance work, Jason won't even seen him as Michael beheads him. Game over.
Also Jason is afraid of water. I don't think Myers is afraid of anything.

For your bonus question, [REC] is the all time GOAT horror movie I would say. I don't know if 2007 is "current" enough for you or not though.

Alright, let’s go over this. I’ve read the comments and answers here and while many of them make good points, some of them also buff their chosen victor without knowing at all what they are talking about. I own every single movie of each series, and I’ve read all of the Halloween comics, and some of the Friday the 13th comics. Let’s go over this with the strongest version of Michael vs the weakest version of Jason. First, We’ll pit Jason from the movies, against Cult of Thorn Michael, and toughest iteration of Michael. And the victor of the battle is Jason. Here’s why:
Jayden Jones made a post and his own battle with Cult of Thorn Michael vs Jason on this question, and Michael came the victor. His reasoning was that Michael was immortal since it was apparently stated such in Halloween 6, whereas Jason is not actually immortal and has been killed in every movie he’s been in. Here’s the problem with that reasoning.
It’s never explicitly stated in Halloween 6 that Michael immortal, just that the curse must be passed on. Jason has been stated as immortal, and in Jason X, which is a canon movie, The United States Government find it literally impossible to kill Jason, trying every known method they can think of, but he’s either too durable, or heals from it. It’s four hundred years later when he is finally killed, and guess what, he doesn’t stay dead for long. We can’t really use his fear of water in this battle since it’s inconsistent with his actions in the original franchise, where he will literally just walk into water with no fear whatsoever, and he can in fact swim in water as we’ve seen, not to mention Michael can’t really use it to his advantage. His aquaphobia is literally a plot armor for his opponents, no more than that.
As for Jason being killed at the end of every movie, with the exceptions of Jason goes to Hell and Friday the 13th Part 4, this is FALSE. Incapacitation is a very different thing from Death, in that the victim is still very much alive. In Friday the 13th Part 2, Jason survives getting his machete slammed into his shoulder, which would kill a real person usually, and in Part 3, gets an axe lodged in his head, and he’s still running for a few seconds. While this does weaken him, he literally wakes up a few hours later, the beginning of part 4, and he’s strong enough to hold a doctor down, slit his throat with a bonesaw, and twist the doctor’s neck all the way around. He’s finally killed in Part 4, when Tommy Jarvis, the only human not related to Jason, slams a machete in his skull over and over, and Tommy only does this when he notices that Jason survived the initial strike, which alone should’ve killed him. He’s clearly not human in the first 3 films where he’s the main villain, not matter what you may think. In Friday the 13th Part 6, Jason is resurrected because Tommy Jarvis BELEIVES him to be unkillable, and through supernatural means, is resurrected when impaled with a spear and then struck with lightning. In this movie, Jason can throw a man by the arm at a tree seven feet away with enough force to kill the man and keep the man's arm in his hand. He also effortlessly snaps another man's spine and is able to take a machete through the heads of three people at once. Not to mention he can now shove someone's face into the side of an RV from the inside with enough force to make a perfect imprint of her face from that can be seen from the outside. He can also twist a girl's head all the way around without any effort without cutting her neck first. At the end of this movie, he is incapacitated and falls into a coma when Tommy Jarvis chains him to a large rock and traps him underwater. In Part 7, he is accidentally awoken from his coma by Tina Shephard, and while Tina does fight back, She never really does anything that affects him long term, until she summons her father from the depths of the lake, who saves her at the last minute by dragging Jason underwater with a chain, repeating the end of Part 6 without the rock involved. He survives his mask crushing his head, which breaks, getting electrocuted in a water puddle by a power line, and getting caught in an explosion that obliterates a two story house, from which he also busted his way out of the rubble without any problem, even though he was trapped in a basement. In Part 8, he is awoken when a boat rudder is caught on his chain and shocks him awake, and though his face is shown melting away, in the next film, the toxic waste fused his mask to his face. In Jason Goes to Hell, he’s finally killed when he’s stabbed with a blade which drags him to hell, a blade which requires the very specific and almost impossible to achieve catch of being used by a family member of Jason. In Freddy vs Jason, Jason is strong enough to bust through a metal door with no problem, spin a man's head around faster than anyone can react, and can survive a fight in the dream realm with Freddy Krueger for who knows how long. Had the aquaphobia not been introduced, It is possible that the battle could've lasted until Jason woke up, which would add another few minutes. I'm pretty sure the dream realm fight lasted for close to 7 minutes, and in this time, Jason not only takes punishment which pisses him off more than hurts him, but manages to hold his ground and fight back, meaning he lasted far longer than anyone else in the dream realm.. He’s also flung God knows how far and with no negative impact, and a large cart hitting him and a massive bucket hitting him while he is pinned in place don’t do much to him, since he recovers from both no problem. At the end, he falls into the lake out of what one can assume is exhaustion. But by the beginning of Jason X, which takes place about 8 years after FVJ, The United States Government can’t find anyway to kill Jason, bar a nuke. It takes twin pistols from almost 450 into the future to put him down, and he’s only down for a few minutes to a half hour before he’s revived with nanites and turned into Uber Jason.
Now let’s go over Michael. In the first movie, Michael is not really beaten, though he does survive Loomis unloading a Smith and Wesson Model 15 and a fall of a second story balcony onto his back. In the second movie, he shows that he has no weakness against heat, drowning a girl in boiling hot water with no reaction when he fries his hands, though this is inconsistent because at the end when he is incapacitated by a fire. He is blinded when Laurie shoots out both his eyeballs and he’s finally taken down when Loomis and Laurie work together to create a fire(I’m not calling it an explosion since Loomis survived), which puts him in a coma for ten years. In Halloween 4, He gets hit with a vehicle, which stuns him, and then falls down a well after getting blasted by all manner of shotguns. This again puts him in a coma for a year, before he wakes up and kills the hermit that helped him live in Halloween 5. He’s literally beaten unconscious by Loomis at the end of the film after getting caught in a net.
Here’s Loomis from Halloween 4 to Halloween 6.
Loomis at this point is on a cane and has heart problems, and you can see the scars from Halloween 2’s ending. He actually has a heart attack while he’s beating Michael unconscious. In Halloween 6, He’s injected with corrosives and once again beaten unconscious. Nothing else is made of it since the film was retconned with H20, but we aren’t focusing on that right now.
So, to Jayden Jones, no, Michael is not immortal, and no, Jason is not killed at the end of the movies.
On with my reasoning, As you can see above, Jason in his prime in the original series, which is Jason X before he becomes Uber Jason, is far tougher than anything Michael has survived, since this quite literally means they’ve tried to blow him up, and at this point, he can survive it, unlike in Jason Goes to Hell. In Halloween 4, Michael is riddled with shotgun shells and falls down a well. This is his best durability feat in this timeline, and this feat actually leaves him weakened. He can barely drag himself through a hole in the well to a stream, just in time as the police drop an explosive into the well he was just in. As he was not in the explosion at all, in fact, he was shielded from it, it is not a durability feat, and we can not assume he would have survived it. Halloween 6, the movie where he is supposed to be immortal apparently, does not have him performing any durability feats that's above what he's shown before.
Michael's best durability feat in this timeline is surviving the end of Halloween 4. Jason's casually tanks blasts from similar guns, and gets thrown from a van and hit by a large cart filled with sand that sends him flying, and he literally doesn't react to any of them. Also, the Friday the 13th video game was made by the original creators of Friday the 13th, and they wanted to give the players the feeling of being Jason. They wanted to give players access to Jason's abilities and what he can do. Within the game, Jason can stand in front of a vehicle going at full speed and stop it in his tracks with no problem. Michael had a similar experience in Halloween 4, and instead of stopping it in it's tracks, Michael got sent flying. Now even if the game holds no real say in this, Jason's best durability feat onscreen far outdoes Michael's. Jason survived an explosion in Part 7 that obliterated the two story house he was in. Only about a minute or two later, he busted his way out of the basement he was in and through the rubble, more pissed off than hurt. Also, Jason was at ground zero of the explosion, which started in the basement.
Now, let’s compare another thing. Let’s assume that Michael survived an explosion, rather than a simple fire, at the end of Halloween 2. That would mean Loomis is supernatural in some way as well, as he wasn’t only at ground zero with Michael, he was literally holding th lighter used to ignite the thing in his hand, and he got away with nothing more than some burn scars, and possibly damaged leg. Between Michael and Loomis, Loomis would’ve taken much more damage, to the point of being blown to pieces. But he wasn’t. So this is a majorly inconsistent feat, as we would have to assume Loomis is superhuman as well.
And even if we assume take it as a good feat, Jason’s house explosion is still a better feat, as we can see from these two gifs (I apologize for the Friday the 13th one, but I couldn’t find a gif with better lighting.)

Look at not only the difference in explosion, but the damage and force done. Even taken into account the tougher materials of the hospital, the explosion Jason survived was much more powerful and devastating.
And another thing, the immortal argument doesn't work here. Immortality is subjective. It usually means, one doesn't die from age. Rarely ever does it mean one can't die at all. Jason's strength feat outdoes Michael's durability with the guns and the fall, busting down a metal door with ease that a shotgun wouldn't get through, the same kind of shotgun that has a big hand in Michael's defeat in Halloween 4. Michael being called immortal does not mean Jason can't slice his head off or strait up punch a hole through Michael's chest.
As for weaponry, Jason's machete can cut through a reinforced metal alloy made 445 years into the future. Michael's weapon in every movie always consists of a basic kitchen knife, and he never does anything with it that implies it's just as durable.
So in short, Jason at his weakest, which is no feats outside of the movies that star him, is still tougher than Curse of Thorn Michael Myers.
To answer another question, RZ Michael Myers, the remake version, is the biggest, heaviest, and Strongest version of Michael. Not the toughest, but definitely the strongest. He stands at 6'7", weighs 300 pounds, and is strong enough flip a small two seater car. Thing is, Jason's explosion feat still outdoes this, RZ Michael does not have a big size advantage over Jason, considering Jason is 6'5" at most in the original movies and weighes in most 270 I believe (Although I read somewhere that it was 340, but until I see it a second time or someone can confirm it, I'll stick with 270). Even if RZ Michael is bigger and stronger, he's shot to death in RZ's Halloween 2, nothing that has ever happened to Jason in the entirety of the movies (Excluding future guns.) So while RZ Michael may be stronger than Jason, he is NOT tough enough to survive a hit from Jason.
As for H20 and 2014 Michael, both of them, while slightly stronger than normal humans, are not at all supernatural entities. Even comic Michael exhibits nothing on the level of Curse of Thorn and RZ Michael.
As for comic Jason, he can regenerate his entire arm in a few seconds after having it blown off by a grenade launcher and can match Uber Jason in terms of strength.
Is Michael smarter? Definitely, but Jason is not actually as child minded as you may think. He may still have that curiosity, but Jason has shown that he's smart enough to cover his camp in traps and go around. Plus, it is implied that he can teleport in the movies, whereas Michael usually just goes around places. While you can't really explain how Jason pops up in some of the places he does, you can usually deduce that Michael could've drove a car and go around to ambush his victims.
Also, since Michael was knocked with a wooden plank by a man on a can, Jason could definitely knock him out and kill him while he's unconscious.
To be honest, Jason outmatches Michael in every way, except possibly speed, but they are close enough in that category that the difference doesn't matter. The battle would be cool to see, but Jason would eventually come out on top, since the only weakness Jason has can't be capitalized on by Michael.
So in the end, Jason Voorhees would win.
